Sounds like an april fool's joke to me

you obviously arent paying attention. it's already spread. april 1st is just a day that it has "special plans" and nobody knows what those plans are yet.

conficker is old news. It first came out like right after the elections. the obama news largely overshadows it.

Hope its something funny, and not something that makes your computer go boom. That'd be uncool.

It's anticipated to be a basic, but possibly largescale botnet attack. If you keep your PC updated with microsoft updates you shouldn't have to worry. This was actually updated back before the original conficker worm was released.

Conficker is just taking advantage of a largely publicized exploit and banking on lazy people who don't update their stuff.

It'd be a threat if you're lazy with your comp, but not too much if you try to stay on top of things.

It's never too late to beef up security to keep your PC safe from the nasty stuff on the internet.

If you don't have it at this moment, it more than likely won't apply to you in the future. Google around and you can see what to look for to see if you are infected.
