Macro Pre-cast Help

Hey all, quick question involving macros. I've always read everyone talking about setting up your macros so that you can begin casting in one piece and then have it switch out for a different piece to finish casting in.

Just curious as to how one would go about doing so, any help appreciated, thanks!

Basically whether you use the standard 6 line macros or the windower scripts you would always put that particular gear/.txt before the spell. Then put a wait x after the spell before putting in your nuke gear.

Example:

/console exec BLM/FastCast.txt
/wait x
/magic "Spell" <t>
/wait x
/console exec BLM/Nuke.txt

You can go even further if you put below after it.

/wait x
/console exec BLM/Idle.txt

For when the nuke has gone to put you into Refresh gear or whatever (Up to you to figure out what your new cast time is).

Spellcast is another matter :p

Ah, so if I were doing Cure Clogs for precast on whm and then wanted to switch to another piece before the actual cure went off I would put the gear/.txt, then wait x seconds, then the spell, wait x seconds, and then the gear.txt that I want to finish casting in?

Yes, put the spell in the middle of those 2 sets with a /wait.

*Fast Cast
*Wait
*Spell
*Wait
*Potency

Idk if windower scripts work with .5 of a second though, might be difficult to implement with lower tiered curing spells with their low cast times.

This is how I do mine

Cureprecast
spell
wait 1
cure v
wait x
Idle gear

And I've had no problems.

Oh one question though, is the wait before casting the spell absolutely necessary? I've never used /wait x before casting a spell on rdm and it's worked fine so far, is it necessary in this case for the precast gear effects to take place?

Just don't want to put a wait before the cure and stall the spell -_-
