I believe people recognize a 5 hit from starting at 0% TP, the WS does count as a hit
Thats a 6hit, WS set doesn't yield enough TP return to keep a 5hit. From the sets that Kalila helped post. TP phase: 20.2 TP a hit(assumed capped merits on Store TP). 16.7 TP return on WS. For a total of 97.5 TP.
Edit: Missed the Unkai Neck. Still 20.4 TP a hit, 16.7 on WS. Total of 98.3 TP yea just looking for opinions or what to replace losing the minimal etc looks like white tath would do it but just wanted some input
Was thinking about the regain earring from wog but only counting on 2 ticks would be like 99.2 Get moonshade with regain and you should be good to go.
Sorry I recalculated, with the Moonshade Earring, you should be able to count the 2 ticks for 100.3 TP
Dual-Wield with a nana and go for a 4-hit zanshin build.

Personally, I like to rely on having an actual solid N-hit instead of relying on regain to make up the difference. Options for making up STP: Carbonara, Tactical Mantle, White Tathlum, Unkai Mimikazari, Rose Strap. My current plan (although I can't decide if I'd rather go for a tactical mantle build) is to TP in this (I don't have all of this yet): I WS in this, and with the above TP set, should be a 5-hit always: Main thing I don't like about this build is the rose strap... I'm still playing around with it. I hate to give up Atheling for Tactical Mantle though, so I may just end up going with this in the end unless we get more merits/traits/gear options in the future. Highly recommend regain earring. I have the setup except I have white tathlum as well. Regain is enough outside and inside abyssea with VV atma is an easy 5 hit. Totally was worth finishing WOTG for it.

The main reason I'm leaning this way over dirtyfinger's build (which I have considered in the past) is that with the tactical/bullwhip build you lose 35 ATK (which, with aftermath seems important to me, maybe I'm wrong on that point?) and 3% DA. You do gain 2% haste though.
If someone has the maths for it, I'd love to hear more about which build is better for TP and why... I literally have 3 different builds set up on a spreadsheet TP calculator and keep flopping between which I think would be best. Haste has increasing returns and Double Attack has decreasing returns. I do not have the maths however, but judging upon those two facts + the increased WS frequency should make a Tactical Mantle build superior.
dirty's tp build is the ideal outside abyssea without the moonshade earring, but inside (if you happen to still be going samurai inside),

Well, they're both 5-hit builds, so if the DA on the atheling build and the haste on the tactical build meant an average 100TP in the same time, then they would be equivalent in terms of WS frequency. I have heard all that about haste and DA before though so I'm certainly willing to believe that 2% haste on top of 22% haste is > 3% DA on top of 5% DA. Just wish I understood enough about the math behind all this to prove that definitively. Is 35 attack on TP a non-issue (thinking about the aftermath here)? Especially if you're throwing on RR, which I've played around with a little bit, having extra attack for those aftermath proc seems win for overall damage. What subjob do you use? Should be 15% from being /WAR.

Especially if you're throwing on RR, which I've played around with a little bit, having extra attack for those aftermath proc seems win for overall damage. 35 atk is certainly a huge hit, that's for sure, which in-turn makes the atheling vs tactical builds come very close, even with the haste volumes included for the tactical build i'd still side with the tactical build to be honest, though that's mainly because my outside of abyssea set requires it regardless, thanks to regain ticks taking three seconds per once again, replace the mala with justice torque for now until mala becomes available, yadayada, but on an outgoing note, here's to hoping store tp v is ten points and not just five Saw this post on the main page, and was like "Has to be a Nabis thread."
pretty much got what i needed was looking for 5 hit with 26 haste and its pretty easy to get since i already have most of it bar the rose strap cuz im lazy
psh get tp bonus on that moonshade
