Yeah, I also have a lot of issues with sleep paralysis too. Where you're awake and aware, but still paralyzed and unable to move. Those episodes are worse than any nightmare. Most, if not all of the "Alien Abduction" stories are sleep paralysis coupled with hallucination. I remember during one sleep paralysis episode, I felt like I was on the wall next to my bed(Couch actually, at the time) and I was actually looking down at myself sleeping.

Which one? The babysitters or being frozen in place?
Edit: There needs to be a trustworthy and free site to type in dreams and get them interpreted, so when I am bored and curious I can see what my crazy head is doing up there without my permission!

I wouldn't doubt it being something about being too trusting. I tend to think everyone I meet is fine and trustworthy until they do something to prove otherwise. :-(
As for the frozen one, I'm not sure where it's coming from in a literal sense because my friends and family are typically all safe. So knowing someone is about to be hurt and being stuck frozen in place while it happens, I don't know. It's illogical. I wake up mad at myself for not being able to break out of whatever is holding me, or else I wake up feeling like nothing I could do would help them.

It's a recurring nightmare in which someone I love is getting hurt or about to get hurt and I can't move, scream, yell, or talk in any way. I am frozen in place and the only thing I can do is watch while they are harmed. It tends to be different people I love every time, so it's not centered around any one single victim. Illogical, I know. :/

I can't remember my dream from last night, but I've had a recurring stress dreams involving velociraptors since I saw 'Jurassic Park' at age eight or nine. It doesn't matter how much time passes, if I have any anxiety, I can count on being chased by velociraptors in my dreams.

The velociraptors in Jurassic Park were my favorites! I'd hate to be chased by one, but I loved them in the movies. They were so smart (Clever girl!) and dangerous! So much better than boring old T-Rex.
Er, but stop getting chased by them, that's no good.

Clever girl indeed! I wish I could. It only happens once in a blue moon though.

Lakshmi.Mabrook said: Btw Liela, my mention is meant for the dreams (not a visual dream tho) when you are awake and see everything around you but you can not scream, move, or anything; just frozen there waiting until it goes away in which you do not awake after but rather continue to sleep when it finishes.
What is this called? I swear I've done this in class before; I can see/hear everything going on but I can't move my body or talk or anything then I just suddenly snap out of it after a while.
Edit: nvm, seems different than what I was doing. :O

Sleep paralysis
It involves the process in which your body shuts down or starts back up after dream sleep.
Atonia occurs during sleep to prevent you from kicking or moving during sleep (also why people can't sleep standing up). Sometimes in some people consciousness kicks in before Atonia shuts off which results in sleep paralysis
In some people the process can be delayed and sometimes be accompanied with hallucinatory experiences.
It's not harmful unless it's accompanied with another disorder such as narcolepsy.

Thank goodness I don't think I get sleep paralysis. Must just suck for poor Zicdeh! For me, I think I can still move and such in real life, but in my dream I am stuck in place. But then again, I'm asleep at the time, so who the devil knows. The human brain is an odd, awkward, amazing, crazy, spectacular and completely incomprehensible thing to me. O.o

I don't always dream. But when I do, I usually have nightmares about natural disasters or aliens.
Stay terrified, my friends.

I seem to have very vivid dreams as Zicdeh does. Two nights ago i had one that goes like this:
Me and my friend had just entered 711 when i noticed out of the corner of my eye a man next to my car messing with its lock only to notice he had a key to my car. This baffled me as i have the only 2 keys to my car, on my key chain and in my wallet. As i ran out the door he managed to get inside my car, turn it over, and drive away with it. Fast forward(is it normal for dreams to jump ahead in time?) Im at my friends house a few blocks away from 711 and we are going to go hunt for my car because we think we saw it drive down a certain street that is a dead end. We hop in his car and set search for it down the dead end street only to notice that there is a new gorcery store at the end and we see my car parked outside. We go inside looking for the guy thinking me and my friend will give him a beat down. When we find him he has the key he used to get in my car around his neck and a gun pointed at the police(they popped up out of nowhere). Shots were fired and he fled the scene with my key still around his neck. The last image i saw before i woke up was him holding my key and this look on his face, i dont think i could describe it but its almost like a "ill be back" kind of look.
In the Random Thoughts thread yesterday, we got to talking about nightmares and dreams. Then Slipispsycho said
Valefor.Slipispsycho said: Okay this thread is making me wonder why there's not a collective FFXIAH dream journal.. I mean weird, abstract, strange and even terrifying dreams is a universal experience.. And there's a thread for most things that are nearly a universal experience (Random thoughts or our love for pictures and videos that make us laugh for example)..
So I'm making it. Feel free to post any dreams you feel like posting here. Especially if you want to start remembering your dreams more vividly or more often. I've heard somewhere along the line that it helps. I'll start by reposting the dreams I mentioned in Random Thoughts.
Asura.Vyre said: I had a dream, and the blonde lady that I presume is Zahrah or is at least Zahrah's avatar was in it! First we were on a Yacht talking about the Navy, and of course since I've only seen the facial expressions she's used in her avatar, so she only made those facial expressions. At first we were surrounded by people I know, as well as my Navy Recruiters, but suddenly there was like a dissolve or transition and we were on a smaller boat, in a backwoods stream. We kept talking about what I would suppose was humorous things as we both kept laughing. Then I fell asleep in the dream. When I woke up, Zahrah was gone, but her Cell Phone was still there and she called it and I answered. She said something about grabbing the tourists and taking them down stream to see the sunset. Then it started to rain like crazy, and there was this break in the tree line where the sun was shining on this patch of the stream that had gigantic sword shaped spikes bathed in a golden radiance threatening to shiskabob me in the next few seconds. The water in the stream was rising, and the boat capsized, but I held on and pulled myself ontop of it as it was shredded to just a few planks as the rushing flood waters brought it over the swords. The whole while Zahrah is telling me some hilarious joke over the phone, which I will not put down, which isn't like me at all. The flood carries me and the boat wreckage to a bank with a break in the trees, and I can see Zahrah, and a bunch of people I do not know, on a field that is also bathed in the golden/scarleting hue of the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen. Zahrah turns around from looking at the sunset, sees me and the boat. She comes over and makes that gesture in her picture that she used in that hilarious stick figure picture in the week 40 MS paint thread, and then she lifts me out of the water effortlessly and hands me a beer. My dreams are... hmmm. Unforgetable.
and then
Asura.Vyre said: Let's see... my most recent nightmare involved this- It's snowing in the town I live in, in USA Northwestern Georgia. I'm driving alone on the road in my small blue 2004 Toyota Camry Consumer Edition. Out of town. There's a cold fog obfuscating everything except the leafless trees on the road side. The snow has built up to where it covers everything, sticking to the road so that I must drive slowly. There are no other cars and no sound from my car. On the side of the road I spot a giant looking fox. This fox is huge, about twice the size of a St. Bernard dog. Its muzzle is highly elongated, and at the time I spot it, its mouth is open. The fox's tongue hangs out, all of its fangs exposed. Its eyes are golden and happy looking. I'm still a good distance from this fox, and I pull over to the side of the snow covered road. I get out of my car, but I don't seem to be wearing any winter clothing; jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of boots. I approach this giant happy looking fox. I get to within about 10 yards of it, and suddenly it closes its mouth. The happy glint in its eyes becomes malevolent. The fox stands and slowly begins walking towards me. Its gaze does not falter. I take a step backwards, and then I turn around and begin walking. This is where the first sounds start in my dream. I can hear the light footsteps of this huge fox-demon, along with the steady rhythm of my heavy footsteps that crunch on the frozen snow. I begin to run. The fox continues walking. I begin to sprint. The fox starts to trot. I make it to my car, but by this point I'm frantic. I pass the front door in my panic, and open up the back door instead. I look back. The fox is galloping towards me, its gaze unchanged, golden eyes locked on me. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest, the sweat on my brow is dripping off onto my hands as I open the back door and jump into the backseat. One of my legs still hanging out the door, I reach to slam the door, but someone is in the seat in front of me. They tilt the seat back as fast as they can, hard. The headrest hits me in the throat and begins to suffocate me. I'm struggling to get my fingers around the door handle. I can't breathe any more. The tips of my fingers claw pathetically trying to get a grip on the door. The pain of the headrest on my throat rises, and I'm hardly squirming for lack of air. As my eyes roll back in my head, the gaze of the fox meets my last sight through the back door window. I wake up.
