And he's towing street legal tires that aren't any better than what he's got on the car. I've never seen a S2000 do well in Auto-cross, either, though its got nothing to do with the car itself...

Yup! Wilderness at the Smokies. It's an amazing place to stay. They even have a surfing machine and giant hot tub. Really recommend it

Everytime we drive through there I always want to stop but its friggen expensive. Its cheaper I guess to actually rent a room and stay for a weekend then it is to drive up for the day and then leave :( which sucks because I can be there in 30minutes.

Except those tires are about 11" wide, while his street tires appear to be 9" wide.

S2000 can struggle in Auto-X due to the fact they are gutless at low RPM...gotta drive em like you are mad at em.

Also, that particular S2000 has a Rollcage in it...I would assume the fact he has tires with him...and a Rollcage...those are probably R Compound tires...those get chewed off really fast on normal roads.

Hmm AutoX or Track Day indeed. Honda S2000 CR right there.. Tires are Dunlop Star Specs I think. Pretty good street tire.

AutoX and even more so Track Days/HPDEs can tear a tire up pretty quickly so people often have a second set of tires just for the event. Smart guy. May even have spare brake rotors and pads if its a Track Day.

S2000s do poorly in AutoX? Don't think that sounds right.

So yea, nothing to make fun of in that picture. But I guess non-car people would think hes dumb.

They don't have much offset, I'd be shocked if you could clear 300 series tires without removing the inner wells. S2000's have trouble with autocross because they have no torque (tail happy at high RPM) and have a very low steering rate for high speed.

Eye balling aside, of course his tires wont be the same size. have you ever actually looked at or driven an S2000 before? The rear wheels and tires are bigger than the fronts. Now this is speculation on my part, but he is might be carrying 4 extra rear wheels for a smokey burnout perhaps.
