I don't care about the royal wedding myself. I hear the arguements against the monarchy and every they say seems completely pointless, so I'm not anti-royal but it's like if William wants to get married, then I don't see how it's mine or anyone elses business.
So today I figured it would be quiet out so I went for a walk. Saw all these people having partys and what have you to celebrate the marriage of two people they've never met. Everyone was having a good time, from little kids to old people.
So if this can make all these people happy, then how can anything be wrong with it?
But I still don't care. Apart from the fact I got a day off.

Those are very rare, it'd be much easier to find in Sweden.
It's the accents! I don't want a Swedish one.

It's not harming anyone, except when they have expensive weddings. But that only happens once a while. lol
Without being too dramatic on what happens behind closed doors when the some of the most powerfull (sparring you all the diminuitive adjectives i could gladly tag on these living organisms) i'm affraid prince Charles has more "influence" than what the average person knows about.
Don't wanna turn it into long debate cause i gotta go and i guess it's fine/normal not to care about this kind of stuff but even if they were just a mere symbol i still don't think it's right. Symbols represents something and in this case what it represents is wrong.

Flavin, yes, IMO she did look a tad skinny. It was obvious, b.c all you had to do was look at her neckline, and see all her neck tendons.

I watched it once I got to work this morning (I have the news on most of the day unless I'm neck deep in a project), so I caught it at the after-wedding procession. I thought it was a nice change to the typical depressing news.
I thought the dress was a nice choice. Yes, I'm a guy, and a dress is a dress. However, I've been forced to listen to and semi-watch "Say yes to the dress" on TV too much, so I at least have some opinions on wedding dresses now. At least the bad ones. Hers wasn't bad. ( /hands over a man card to those that will surely take it *coughUrialcough*)
The tiara was given to her by the Queen. The Queen received it from her mother(?) when she was 18 years old. A lot of people see that as a pretty significant event. (She is 85 years old? Don't feel like googling.)
It didn't saturate TV or the news for me aside from the replica ring commercials. Those were annoying, but they're nothing new. It's either a replica something or a gold coin on a constant basis.
Edit: As far as her being too skinny, I didn't think so.
It was almost comical at how nervous she was at various points. She handled herself well, but you could tell how overwhelmed she was.

I didn't like her dress. Who knew it was possible for a McQueen dress to be so utterly boring? She looked lovely, but sooooo thin... unnaturally thin, hopefully she puts on a little weight once she gets accustomed to her new life.

I don't see why people are so interested either. Seems to be the older generation mostly. There was a lot of young people there.. but for only 3 reasons:
- Day off.
- Massive daylong pissup.
- Get stoned in hyde park.
I actually did watch the ceremony. Simply due to the fact my TV clearly broke and every channel was just jammed on the 'royal wedding' theme, which sucked. That being said, watching Kate for a few hours didn't do me any harm.

She did look really nice. I would have thought that Kate would have gone for the mermaid silhouette though. She's done it well in the past.

Bridesmaid dresses are designed to make people look goofy and unappealing, with maximum amounts of discomfort. :p I feel for Pippa Middleton. :p

Especially when there is too much beading and it looks stiff. I've seen nice ones though. I'm just kind of over the princess silhouette. Seen it way too many times. It's more or less a wedding standard.

Yeah I'd like to have a feel of her too...wait I mean yeah...I feel bad for her too
So how many of you watched this mornings proceedings at Buckingham Palace? Personally I still don't quite understand how a wedding has captivated so many people around the world, but I nonetheless found myself watching the highlights with a pleasant smile on my face!
Perhaps it is the perfect ceremony that many of us wish we could experience ourselves with loved ones that captures our hearts? It looked like one of those special occassions that puts the worlds troubles on hold and unites people in happiness.
