dont think there should be that kind of restriction, even if one cant draw as good, the idea and concept of the artwork makes up for it most of the times.
but if someone appears out of the blue then disappears, they haven't taken anything away or lowered our amount of members entering. I don't see that related to your last sentence at all but I agree with it. I know I'd have to have an amazing idea to win, no skill at all lol
Eugene better articulated what I wanted to say.
Even I was able to win a couple times. Stick with it and your time will come. If being able to create a topic is what this is about.

not like we have an entry fee or a cash price
Not what I said. I agree the content makes up for it. Just it's annoying that people who consistently enter are rewarded in no way. Spence, Lillica and Hewison are the three primary ones that I was thinking of. Introduce sub-categories.

You have to take into account that some people would maybe like to enter the contest but simply don't have the time to put together an entry for it. And on the off chance they can, they shouldn't be penalized for doing so.
Furthermore, some people just can't conceptualize an idea for certain topics (myself included) so if one pops up that they have an idea for, I don't see what the issue is. This is all supposed to be fun anyway~

I'd be lying if I said that this hadn't crossed my mind here and there. At times it seems like the voting is more of a popularity contest and this was originally the excuse I told myself for why I did not enter in these challenges.
Then one day, 8 week ago, I thought to myself - why not just enter you silly beard?
I'm glad I did. Thinking about these challenges in the back of my head during the day is a nice way to pass the time. Also, producing an art piece once a week has really given me a kick up the backside in drawing more on a daily basis.
It may be corny, but I'd say the enjoyment in doing this is a reward in itself.
...can't believe I said that lol. Anyways, if I did win I'd prolly be like this for a week and never come up with a question...
Next week you and I should make a joint entry, Zahrah. That is assuming neither of us win this week, the challenge is something we can both think up an idea for, we can be arsed, it's a blue moon, Anye enters in a challenge, pigs fly, Spence doesn't bump and loads of other stuff too!
I think it's just more thinking out loud than anything, harmless for the most part
Thank you. Sorry to whoever I offended. It wasn't my intention. I guess we'll just proceed.
EDIT: Spence, you seem to be interpreting this entirely wrong.
I guess I can't really say anything since the one time I entered an entry before this week I happened to win (I do lurk in every week's thread though :D), but if you have a great idea why not just post it in the thread?
I didn't even consider winning that week, since honestly, I'd think a community regular would be more likely to get votes, and so I hadn't thought of any ideas. I would've gladly used someone else's and I'm sure other people who win might feel the same way.

That was exactly the topic that's been in my head since last week! I think a team challenge would be fun!
Seriously if you guys don't like the rules the way they are set up now, or you don't feel you can "compete" with the rest of the artists, shut the *** up and make your own "I am a *** whiny *** pansy but still want to do MS Paint ***thread". I am sick and *** tired of hearing people cry and *** because X person has a tablet or Y person has natural skill. As far as changing the rules goes *** off alright, these threads have had nearly 2 years worth threads running with almost the same rules, if you don't like them get ***. ESPECIALLY if you are some little priss *** who only started posting in the threads recently and thinks the world revolves around you and your *** ideas for change, you can take that ***shine it up real nice and stick it straight up your candy ***. *** tha police!
No one said that. I've never seen you post in any of these threads, I find it curious that you're interested in it all of a sudden.
I thought I discerned that in the spoilers above. I'm not trying to push an agenda one way or the other. I just happen to think it's an interesting topic, but if my comments on it are unwelcome that's a ok by me.
Ok. For thinking some time, and even trying to word it in my head to how it would work, here it is:
