FFXI TV Marriage >.>
I was flipping through some TV channels the other day an I happen to come across a FFXI chocobo on tv and San d'oria... I was like WTF is going on? Apparently they have this tv show that finds these couples an gives them the ultimate dream wedding, and apparently 2 people got married in game and applied for this show and got accepted, sadly they lost but it was pretty cool to see ffxi on tv. Did anybody else see this?
I believe there was a thread about this already.
heard about that a little while ago, I think on a thread in here somewhere. Pretty neat, and I'd be stunned to find it flipping through the TV too.
It was Narse and Byosemoh (or something like that) "Shedding for the Wedding." There's a thread about it.

I could be missing the boat here, but ...
It's admirable and awesome that these two want to lose weight. But they want their reward for losing weight to be ... a FFXI in-game wedding, and not a real wedding? Seriously? So ... instead of a wedding, they're seeking a kids' birthday party.
Now I'm gonna have to rethink my stance on video games not having any real negative impact on society. Bismarck.Elanabelle said: So ... instead of a wedding, they're seeking a kids' birthday party. I saw this and I thought they were so cute together. :'p
Why can't I meet good people like that?! D: Bismarck.Elanabelle

To each, his/her own, I guess. But if these two wanted to host a "Spider-man" theme wedding, or "NASCAR" theme wedding, please don't tell me you'd take them seriously. It would be one thing if they wanted to have little figurines of their FFXI characters on top of the wedding cake. That type of personal touch is cool, even if it isn't "classy". But I'm getting the feeling watching that interview that the couple is envisioning exchanging Tamas and Rajas rings, serving Sole Sushi (+1?) as the reception dinner, and having a first dance to the music soundtrack from Yuhtunga Jungle? That isn't absurd? Offline

Seriously? +1 I haven't watched the video in a while so I don't remember all the details, but if they met in game, I'd think it rather fitting.
I guess I don't really care, but if I were a friend, family member, or a member of the wedding party, I'd draw the line at dressing up as an Elvaan or as a certain job class. Everyone on that show wanted a themed wedding.
They wanted a themed wedding because this is where they first met and they love this game! D: It's not your wedding and you weren't invited; why do you care? You liar you know youd love to dress up as an elvaan dancer ;x You know, I bet a lot of it has to do with the fact that this was going on television. All the couples on the show had a theme to their wedding just as over-the-top as a ffxi theme. They probably wouldn't cast people who were just having the 'typical' wedding.

That isn't absurd? Their wedding is supposed to be special for them, without having to worry about pleasing everyone else. Since FF is apparently the place they met, they would like an FF-themed wedding. I don't see the problem. It's their day and they should have it how they like it. Very cool! I've always loved the idea of an FFXI themed wedding someday. Nice to see that I'm not the only one :3

Seriously real weddings are *** dumb.
I say go where you want and spend it on yourselfs, not the morons that won't remember it in 10 years. I kinda agree with that.
I want a small wedding though. Only a few people, somewhere nice. Or just us two. It's their wedding, what they choose to do and what you choose to do may be different, it's not your choice to decide whether it's right or wrong, a wedding is supposed to be what they want, not what you think is politically correct or correctly themed. It is possible to have a themed wedding and still be classy >.>
Has anybody seen that David Tutera show? I dont really encourage you do because of the overall cheeseyness but he takes weird themed weddings and makes them */cough/expensive/cough/* classy and extravagant. (Id have him design me a lion king wedding to be all honest :D imagine the challenge!) and even if it wasnt and it was immature from your viewpoint, like somebody else said..its their wedding, they should do what they want. Atleast they'll be happy and it will be memorable. |
