So be a judge and judge the curliness of my pubic hairs. All gimps pull the "RL" card. -.- and all basement dwelling geeks who have uber gear tell people that people who have better ***to do pul out the RL card. I bet you wanna pull out the RL but the only RL you know is the occasional trip to the barber to cut that caveman beard off your face. So.. Because I have good gear? I am a nerd? Giving in to the troll, monk is not useless even outside abyssea I duo-ed Khimaira with a rdm/blm for stun while I countertanked. Back at 75 I solo-ed Genbu, serket, cassie and trio-ed others via three box of whm and brd. Things a war can not do. Yes a nin can too but the damage output from monk is so great. Now in zerging a war
Will always do better i'll give you that.
To say monk is useless is very ignorant.

mnk is a viable tank for people who can't play better
SAM , WAR , NIN , all make better tanks with competent mages
all three of these will also outperform a MNK's damage potential in a "perfect" setting
MNK is slightly easier on targets which can't do jackshit anyways, (HP + counterstance <-> mitigation + LOLTPMOVES AND SPELLS)
it might not be useless (any job can do just about anything in this game) but it's by no means the most efficient solution to any problem that is not triggering blue during blunt modes. (Mules?)

You can have a Warrior with the best damn gear in the game get out damaged by a THF with crap gear that goes all out to do max dmg.
When I played THF as my main job. Most of the time the only jobs that would clearly out paruser me was DRK and SAM.
That being said. People don't care about how well they play now they just want the job done. FFXI player pride is dead!

Plus even now a drk still be powerful even if in a "perfect" setting it would always fall behind other dd's.
