How To Approach Abyssite Collecting?

First and foremost I have no great understanding of abyssea, so I will say I have no opinion or standing on how I should approach this, so if that is an issue for me asking, I am only taking this as suggestion and advise, since most of endgame is at the Abyssea aspect of the game.


I know If I want to be more effective in Abyssea I need to collect Abyssite, And get my Atmas, but I have no idea how to get worked into it.


I read up wiki but it is not very clear on exactly what to do.

I got that much out of wiki at the least, but I am saying how should I approach it from the start, I figure working in the Visions zones first would be smart, but is there a set path that would be more effect to hasten or assist me in the task of collecting Abyssite?

I just listen for shout groups. Had a lot of success with this.

Work on getting the abyssites that increase your stones you accumulate. Also work on getting abyssites that give you extra time per stone.

Then work on abyssites of merit (hp/mp+) and furtherance (stats+)

You can solo/low man most of them easily.
Also you could always put together your own shout group.

Some Abyssite are quested, purchased, others are obtained by killing specific monsters/NMs.

Most of the quested Abyssite are obtained as high end reward after reaching a sufficient amount of fame in the specific area, therefore they take the longest time to achieve.

You should start by purchasing the Abyssite available from the Cruor Prospectors and then gathering the easy Abyssites, which drop off normal mobs (Cryptonberry Occultist*) or common NMs (Bhumi) that roam zones such as the avatars.
The most important Abyssite are Celerity* (shortens stone retrieval time), Sojourn (+time per stone), Merit (HP+ MP+) and furtherance (STAT+)

The Abyssite dropped off NMs are easy as long as you can Proc Red !!

Celerity/sojourn >> furtherance/merit >> rest imo. If its a quest that needs higher rank fame spam an easy repeatable quest to get the fame needed. Or shout if it drops off an nm like Mielikki just shout for seals it drops and the abyssite in port, you'll get interest.

For example a friend of mine who returned to game from a break spammed Thiene for fame yesterday via the fishing rod quest flux4 unbreak his heart or w/e its called until you get the fame to do the two abyssite quest one he soloed then I came and helped him get some lambent scales then do a quest from Curilla where you get sojourn abyssite. He will do the same for Konsch. today. It was his choice to do Konschtat today I advised him to goto Vunk and get the whisker quest done though but upto him ofc. Waugly is another nm you will want an abyssite from fairly prompt for another +3min sojourn abyssite.
