Chipoltle is the only reason I can never fully dismiss the idea of a sympathetic higher power
Perhaps me going to Chipotle today wasn't a good idea! lol

Respectable amount. I can dig it
I remember (kinda) my first trip to Vegas. I ate chipolte for the first time. It was the only thing I ate the entire 3 days. I still don't know if that was a good idea or not.
Question guys: I've noticed my chest/back is getting bigger faster than my arms.
Doing my biceps/triceps 2x a week is that going to speed up size? or not due to muscle repair? Also thoughts on triceps/biceps on same day? Or is that a no-no? I keep hearing mixed opinions on that. Shouldn't really take a week for your muscles to repair themselves.
I work every group twice a week. Additionally, I don't see a problem with bi's/tris at the same day either. I've done it before and my splits are always weird, unconventional ones, but I hit all my body parts x2 a week regardless and it's been working for me. But are you going up in lifts, when you hit that muscle group for the 2nd time in the same week? Couldn't tell you. I don't do the same thing.
I'll usually do 5x5 for the first day for each body part, then on the second day do 3-4 sets of 8-10 reps, but find myself increasing in the next 5x5 workout the next as well as increasing in the next secondary workout for the following week as well. Interesting. Right now I'm doing 2-3sets of 10-12 > 2sets of 4/5. I'll give your day15x5 : day23/4x10 a try next week YouTube Video Placeholder watch other videos by this guy very intresting makes alot of sence Offline

The wife and I for years have been not only vegetarian but also we eat mainly whole foods. Rice, lentils, beans, nuts, fruits, veggies, etc. Also we do not take medicines and keep in semi decent physical shape for our age.
I think back to the days in our early 20's, some of my friends said "F that shyt I eat burger, steak, pork chops, etc, Meat and potatoes man". BTW many assume because of eating this way I would be some tiny little man. 5'10, 220lbs, 16% Body fat. Aye I am starting to get a little chub in my 40's. I am glad we chose to eat and live the way we have as now our friend also in their 40's struggle with so many health problems. IMO 40 is a young age to struggle with such things. I am seeing people in their 20's and 30's struggle with it as well. Here is to hoping folks will watch educational videos like this and more to further enhance their perspectives on diet, exercise, and life style. Bismarck.Bloodbathboy

I do twice a week like Tiger. But I never do biceps and triceps. I row heavy for back which puts a ton of stress on my biceps. I bench heavy to which puts stress on my triceps so I do push/pull.

There is nothing wrong with eating meat. Meat provides an easier way to obtain amino acids. Vegetarianism/Veganism can be very dangerous if the individual isn't making sure they are getting their proper amino acids and other nutrients. <3 a juicy rib-eye steak, medium-rare. @Tiger: Thanks for the tip I did the 5x5 today was very good workout today. Wish my spotter was there today for my bench but meh :/ Bahamut.Baconwrap said: » Arziet said: » BTW many assume because of eating this way I would be some tiny little man. 5'10, 220lbs, 16% Body fat. Wish my spotter was there today for my bench but meh :/ Just dont forget! Too much red meat can be bad for you. Same as fish Trying to hit the gym as much as I can but my schedule is tight these days. I'm around 195lbs, 5'7, a lot of muscle on me with some extra baggage. Before fulltime kicked in I was in the gym 5 times a week doing bicep/back, legs, chest and tris, shoulders and traps, and finishing up with bicep/tris.
Was taking raspberyy ketones, fish oil, and hydroxycut along with protein for post workout. While I can't say I was losing fat weight, I was gaining a lot of muscle. At this point in my life I think I'm built and strong enough. I'm thinking of toning down the amount of weights I work with in favor of endurance building. Any one have any tips for fat weight loss? I've been looking into HIIT and crossfit but I get bored just biking or running for 30 minutes. Quiznor said: » Just dont forget! Too much red meat can be bad for you. Same as fish The general concern with too much seafood is from shell-fish and their cholesterol. If you're talking about the mercury found in fish. Meh... generally you're ok with stuff like catfish, tilapia, and salmon. Salmon is good too so long as you watch your monosaturated fats. Bahamut.Baconwrap said: » Quiznor said: » Just dont forget! It still applies :P But yeah dont get me wrong,I know its healthy in moderation Looking for tips as I approach the end of my weight loss. Goal is to hover around low 160s (from 203 6 months ago<40 lbs holy sh!t>)but start to transfer my remaining fat <15.5%> into a bit of muscle and get that down to below 14%.
I am aware of the difficulties to simultaneously loose fat and gain muscle, this is why I dropped 40 lbs first. Workout tips and eating tips are most welcome. HIIT cardio is great, @Glaciont was asking about it earlier. Also it has been shown to keep burning calories even after the HIIT session. A lot of studies have shown since the breathing mimics anaerobic exercise you gain muscle from it as well. The best part about HIIT vs circuit/crossfit is that HIIT is only meant to be done for 10-20~ minutes. So you get results with very little time. HIIT Cardio BB Forums Circuit training/crossfit/P90x: Since you are moving from exercise to exercise and taking very minimal breaks. You burn a ***-ton of calories, while maintaining muscle mass. Interval Eating: Eating several small meals a day every 1.5-2hours vs just eating 3 large meals. It requires a degree of food preparation if you work/school fulltime. But since you are constantly digesting food, your metabolism goes up. Fiber/Flaxseed: Most people don't get enough fiber in their diet. I add flax-seed to my diet, helps with cravings and flax-seed is just damn good for you! It's usually dirt cheap and lasts for a long time. I've been looking into HIIT and crossfit but I get bored just biking or running for 30 minutes. Hydroxycut and all those thermogenics, if you take one brand too long your body becomes immune and you really need to cycle them off I found. Semi related,I just take my fish oil with my first 3 meals of the day. All which are before my workout
You have to be active while on hydroxycut to see results of it, as with all thermogenics. And yea you do have to cycle with it, I usually go on an off with it, just depending on my shift rotation. When I do night shifts I usually go off of it, but when I go back on days every two weeks, I go back on the thermogenic. The cycle I have is just a synergy house, fish-oils and ketones work really nice together. You just have to keep hydrated and active.
Any thoughts on HIIT/Crossfit stuff? Gotta lose dat fat. Lakshmi.Glaciont said: » Any thoughts on HIIT/Crossfit stuff? Gotta lose dat fat. HIIT if you don't a lot of time to devote to cutting. Cross-fit if you do. I'm currently at my house for spring break.
Don't have access to a gym/rec center or any real weights. Best I got here are a pair of 7 lbs weights. Any good ideas of what I can do in my free time besides just playing videogames? also, how much do you normally do w/ weights? You could just try to do strength training with large number of reps/sets w/ the 7 lbs. I honestly took the week off for Spring break. Went to the gym as my friend's guest once (campus gym was closed).
It's fine to take a week off every now and then; just don't make it a habit Lifting straps? Yes/No? When are they necessary or not?
My friend recommended I get some for dead-lifts and some lat exercises. Phoenix.Amandarius

Isnt it just to support your lower back a bit more so you've less chance of hurting it? Assuming you mean this btw Quiznor said: » Bahamut.Baconwrap said: » Isnt it just to support your lower back a bit more so you've less chance of hurting it? Assuming you mean this btw What you posted is a lifting belt- I use that for squats so I don't hurt my back. These are lifting straps(below). So I kinda wanted to know pros/cons of using them. Yeah knew it was a belt,I just thought you might have called it something else. Idk what those are for in your pic though o_O
Kinda curious to know myself now |
