That's nothing really new, though. Many dragon type pokemon have that problem due to their secondary typing being also weak to ice (/flying, /ground). Just switch to one of your other 5 pokemon in that case. Hoping that they at least expand his movepool a bit more in these remakes.

IDK, Sableye has 3 gems on its back. A Ruby, an Emerald, and a Sapphire... in another game I could see Sableyes gems all being about the size of the ruby, except hovering around him. Ruby could show animations when he attacks, Sapphire when he uses healing moves/Defnesive moves, and Emerald when using status moves.
But that'd be a lot of programming for a Pokemon game, still, significantly more epic sounding.
At the very least the gem coulda been more of an Alexandrite/luminescent so it can shine with the 3 colors of the one on its back. (Maybe it does do this, changing colors based on a forme we don't know of yet.. It'd be cool if the Gem he's holding did change based on what move he used last)
I wonder how long until we see merge evolving like that one Pokemon, can't be far off when they have "Mega" evolving now.

I liked the Slowpoke line of evolution because it was unique. Needing a certain pokemon(Shelder in this case) to attach itself onto the Slowpoke.
Kyurem's evolution seemed like an after thought. Like hmm this legendary is pretty meh, I know lets fuse it with the main box ones just cause!

Meaning way more mind games with my little guy. Is it a Prankster? Is it Magic Bounce? Is it Substitute/Calm Mind? Is it Physical? Ugh, this thing is gonna mess up so many people's rhythm. Love you Sableye!
