Look up an emulator. You can custom them to any controller. If I am correct they are for NES and SNES. Those are by far the easiest ones to get. And the games aren't even 1 MB.

While you're at it, could check out the GBA ports of some of them too, Visual Boy Advance is the GBA emulator of choice.

The original NES FF2 is nearly unplayable, while the GBA one isn't too bad.

GBA FF4 is closer to the original Japanese version plus some extra stuff in the finale, but there's a few game-breaking bugs in the battle system that *** with your turns. Probably should go with the DS remake.

GBA FF5 has an official translation (and imo, genuinely funny dialogue) and some bonus stuff like an extra dungeon with more jobs.

No idea about GBA FF6 aside from a less memorable translation, could probably play the SNES one just fine.

Try looking up Desmune, it's a pretty decent DS emulator. Perfect for playing FFIV on the DS. :D

you have to find roms (aka the game file)

there's probably packs for the Final Fantasy series, and considering emulators have save states, you can save anywhere :D

for 4 5 and 6 I'd probably play on a playstation emulator as it has more settings, I know there's differences in the game versions but meh.

SNES would probably run smoother for those that are on it.

Play VI on a PSX emulator. A lot of the translation to the GBA port was bodged and some truly memorable lines were lost in the void.

Play V on a GBA emulator, it had extras and the translation was really good.

Play IV on the GBA/DS as the translation was really good.

Play III on the DS

Play II and I with a GBA emulator

All 6 are available on emulation.

1 and 2 are both good on NES and GBA
3 will need a DS, unless you want a loosely translated NES version.
4 GBA or DS, PSX even.
5/6 are good on PSX, GBA and SNES are also good.
