It wasn't, they dumbed the entire game down to fit it onto consoles from the get go, essentially. The gameplay was incredibly shallow, you could essentially win the game by spamming one button. Tactical party combat was completely useless and may as well not have been in the PC version at all. It took me 15~16 hours to finish the game in its entirety (side quests etc.)
Very disappointing affair tbh
I'm awesome and hit "Delete" instead of "Submit"
They had a lot of good ideas and concepts, but sadly the dev team claims that EA* pretty much came in one day and said "release it now or you are fired". Sounds like a solid story to me, since we all know EA* loves money more than fans, and any chance they get to release something that they can get a few dozen DLC's out the door with they will, even if that means releasing a poor quality unfinished game.
I try to look at DA2 for what it could have been, the combat system had a lot of interesting combination abilities and the graphics were a nice step up. Learning more about other races and locations was something I was looking forward to, and I think had there been more time and care it would have been wonderful.
I know for a fact that the people who are behind DA (the writers and concept design teams) have the ability to create some amazing things and a very interesting world to experience. Sadly game publishing and marketing have a nasty habit of ruining such things.
