Final Fantasy VII
I was gonna say that but definitely not in those words, lol

Personally, like many others, FF7 was my introduction to the series and therefor holds a very special place for me. Even without that connection though, I'm perfectly happy to say that it's one of my all-time favourite games. Long story short, would I buy a remake? *** yes. I'm one of "those" types. FF7 was my outro to the series. I didn't get a PS1 until long after PS2 had already been out, and I just wasn't a fan of the blocky polygons in 7. FF6 was my last hurrah before coming to FFXI. That being said, a remake of 7 would be pretty neat, I'd definitely get it. My wife is a huge fan of 7, so I know she'd be all about it too. That was honestly my biggest complaint. I was a much bigger fan of the 2-d sprite FF titles. That, combined with not owning a PS1 to even play the game and all. All my friends had it, and were always playing it when I would go hang out with them, so I've literally sat through the entire story of the game without ever picking up a controller. That's not a bad thing, necessarily. that's like saying you enjoyed sex when all you do is watch your friends have it, it's just not the same there guy. Not really. I wasn't a big fan of the modernized-futuristic setting, all my FF games were set in medieval fantasy setting, except for 6, which was more of a hybrid. That being said, I didn't mind the story. Ramuh.Laffter said: I was gonna say that but definitely not in those words, lol well for video game nerds, I felt it was mildly fitting, although I probably could have done better, oh well. Haven't touched 13 since last year lol. wasnt like the very first final fantasy (FFadventures) like a very modernized-futuristic game? had a *** jet bike for christ sakes.
12 was fun for me. It did get to a point where all I was doing was running into fights and letting gambits do the work for me.

Asura.Yunalaysca said: wasnt like the very first final fantasy (FFadventures) like a very modernized-futuristic game? had a *** jet bike for christ sakes. Most FF games are a bit of a hybrid, even 11. I really like that about them, how half the people in the world of that game are living in the 16th century, and the other half are living in an almost futuristic world. Some of the older games do this the best I think, in that you think you're in a medieval world, then Cid rocks up with his *** airship, and next thing you know you're being attacked by giant robots in a hidden mechanical city.

Hell it was even released as Mystic Quest in the UK. Odin.Blazza said: Most FF games are a bit of a hybrid, even 11. That much has always been there. Yes, in the first FF game on NES, there is a part where you do fight machines in a futuristc level. But that's one small part of an otherwise 90% medieval fantasy game. That much I did like. PS1?
PSX is far superior. Bahamut.Jetackuu said: Cerberus.Rayik said: Odin.Blazza said: Most FF games are a bit of a hybrid, even 11. The first Final Fantasy was "Final Fantasy" ... First one came out in 87(90 for the US) for JP, Adventures came out in 91 on the Gameboy. Huuuuuge difference. Also, from what you're saying Rayik, (and this is the last I'll say because it's suddenly turning into a "pick on Rayik because he doesn't like FF7" thread) is that you haven't actually played the game at all, but are judging it based only on it's reviews, which are all great really. Even the people that spurn it for the pure fact that it's "over-rated" generally express a certain amount of respect for it.
Seriously, give it a try, it's a great story, and a way more in-depth game with more side-quests and other ***to do than any of the single player FF's that came after it.
