Cheap-ish?
Around $15-20 for the 1/144 scale High-Grade ones (smallest posable scale AFAIK, but also largest selection of designs), not including shipping. Modern ones have good colour seperation, but a lot of the details still use stickers, so you'll want to paint them to get them looking their best.
$20-25 each for Real-Grade kits. 1/144 scale, but with MG(1/100)-PG(1/60) levels of detail, and the huge amount of tiny parts you'd expect with such a thing. The earlier ones have some issues with loose joints, but nothing that can't be fixed. Only 10 kits out so far, though, and one of them is basically an accessory pack for one of the others.
But that's not including the online-store exclusives, which are basically the normal kits with extra goodies (which are usually just extra weapons taken from the High-Grade version of the kit).

Hobbylink Japan has an almost constant 20% off Gunpla kits (and frequent sales that go up to 50-80% off), but this is sometimes offset by more expensive shipping depending on where you live.
This is a good site to check out the kits themselves, though.
The reviews are in Korean, but there are plenty of pictures. The pictures in the reviews are straight out of the box builds, with the stickers on and some panel-lining done, but he does provide pics of what they look like sticker/line-less at the bottom of each.
You'll want to look in the HG, SEED, 00 and AGE sections, but remember to scroll down to the High-Grade or Real-Grade sections in SEED/00/AGE, or you'll be looking at the wrong kits. ;x
