In any case... unless the judge is feeling extra friendly all he/she needs to hear is that your friend was in fact exceeding the speed limit and the ticket stands... I remember my brother challenged a ticket because he waited 3.76 seconds to turn on red instead of 4 seconds and still had to pay up lol...
The only successful challenged was a drop off that some cop tried to give a ticket for parking in a bus zone... made a video showing what happened and the sign present and the judge finally ruled in our favor!
