oh sorry forgot to mention that it's pretty much in free mode right now, as far as I know there is no level restriction, there is chat/gold restriction with the 'free trial' and some other stuff I can't remember.
I bought a physical box for 20 bucks, lifts all those restrictions, comes with 30 'free' days (it'll be f2p long before that runs out I think) and you can get a free mount and items that will get you a free 2000 gold to start you off (just reverse the code on the box and you get the tawny huntress pack)
Yeah, I was playing the trial version so I cant talk in chat outside of guild and I believe I had a Lv.28~ limit so I stopped there for a while. D:

We don't have the Tawny huntress in Europe :(

While F2P is definitely the way to go when it comes to MMOs and things of the like, I'm curious how heavily emphasized on micro-transactions Tera is. Is there a "premium" to unlock for more content access, or is it more of a "buy this if you don't feel like doing this quest 9000+ times"?

From what I saw you can still pay the sub for 'premium' which does give you some perks, but they're aren't (from what I saw) game breaking, you can still do everything with the Free subscription.

What I put up with ingame is 10 times worse then Sagi spamming subligars.
Someone is giving the wrong information over and over to a new players on the bases 'I have all jobs 85+' and I keep correcting them with the right information, and they get all defensive and reiterate 'I have ALL jobs 85+' and I'm doing my damnedest to not say "and you're a *** idiot, stop talking"

Player base has always been dumb, now it's harder t tell because everyone has decent gear. You used to be able to pick them out in a crowd...

I'll be writing up a start up guide w/o spoilers for new players so they know what they're getting into before they buy.
I'd recommend torrenting the game if you can play it on your PC to try it out as a demo basically before you put your money into it. It's a game that you'll either love to death or hate to death, I really don't think there is any middle ground in it.
