I have Havel's set and the Black Iron set and Silver Knight but I like my Elite Knight more since it's not as heavy. I'm way too slow in Black Iron :/

Level/difficulty wise the forest comes after I think... The key you got from the gargoyles opens a door by where you meet Solaire. Ultimately you can go wherever you want though XD

The crest can be used to get a ton of souls very easily early in the game by luring the guys in the forest and then hiding in the corner of the stairs next to the ledge. You put your shield up facing the ledge (and facing the narrow path to the corner) and the enemies will run up the stairs instead and jump over you and fall down and die lol, very easy 6000 souls and it takes maybe 1 minute to do.
