I like to think that, more or less, they've figured out the superhero formula and are trying to cash in on it. There are some disasters, (hulk, xmen3, superman) but for the most part the ones they come out with are at least decent, sometimes better than the originals.

I find a lot are good, but they could be so much better. Maybe my expectations are too high.

I agree. All the superhero movies that I've watched lately (Thor, Green Lantern, X-men First Class) have all been pretty good. Fantastic 4, Superman, Spiderman 3 were all pretty eeeeh. Never saw Hulk or X-men 3 though.

If you can avoid it, don't see it. Like flion said, x3 was god awful. I don't even think the directing or the acting made it a bad movie by itself, the writing was just so bad that I raged so hard throughout the entire movie. Then again maybe the directing did have to do with it because that has a big influence on the story
