Well, canned whole tomatoes tend to be fresher than tomatoes from produce. They can them within hours of picking, while hole tomatoes travel for a few days and they pick them underripped, etc.

I got one of those huge cans tho, industrial size. Had like 20 lil tomatoes inside. The batch took up two pots.

I froze the rest for later, I don't go through it very fast so it will last a very long time. The final cost was probably 50% less if I would of bought it all in jars, but tastes a lot better.

Well, someday when I have the location and the money, I want to have a full vegetable garden with plenty of tomato plants, as well as basil and the like. But, that's part of that grand dream of mine to make pizza entirely from scratch at home. But until then, I'll try the canned thing, first.

na D: I buy from Penzeys Spices and put the pine nuts in the freezer, then take them out to make pesto or sprinkle them on something :3
