Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Some PS1 games are pretty rare and go for a great deal of money... $20 is on the cheap side...
20$ for a ps1 game is cheap?! Are you guys from the past?

>.> Since the PSP rerelease it has dropped significantly... I'd be doing good to get ~$70 for it now. My Lunar and Lunar 2 box sets have gone down considerably as well. Makes me kinda sad. I wouldn't fault anyone pirating that couldn't afford the product, but if you're just doing it to pinch pennies when you're financially able you're kind of a ***. (Not PS1 specific, just a general sentiment.)
Mod chips always seemed sketchy to me, too. The sites that supply them are all so poorly done. Leviathan.Comeatmebro said: » Not to mention the whole "supporting the manufacturer" bit. My point was that no game is impossible to find, wasn't making a case in favour of piracy, clam down.
And no, ps1 games to me don't deserve a high price. Lakshmi.Flavin said: » To me... that's life... might sound harsh but true... I mean I can't afford certain things I might want but I don't go about taking things that aren't mine just because I can't afford them... -Can afford product and like the developer? Buy it. -Can barely afford product and like the developer? Pirate it and remember that the developer footed the bill for that game you're playing for free. Buy it when you have some spare money. -Friend tells you to check out a game that you would never spend money on but feel like you might enjoy? I see this as a grey area. If you take it as a given that you would never pay money for that game, the company has actually benefitted from you pirating it. Their game gains a fan, and you might have incentive to buy the next generation of it. A good personal example would be portal, I pirated the first one a few years after it was released at a friends suggestion, would never have bothered otherwise. Bought 2 the day of release, and am happy with the purchase. My issue lies with people who have enough recreation money to buy media, but choose to spend it elsewhere and get the media anyway. It's extremely disrespectful to the developer. Phoenix.Sehachan said: » My point was that no game is impossible to find, wasn't making a case in favour of piracy, clam down. And no, ps1 games to me don't deserve a high price. I saw a guy trying to sell a hard copy of Xenogears in it's PS1 case with booklet and everything at convention this year for like 85 dollars. It's 5 dollars on the PSN store... Phoenix.Sehachan said: » My point was that no game is impossible to find, wasn't making a case in favour of piracy, clam down. Digital media is horrendously overpriced already, accusing people of beings *** for pirating is ridiculous. It's not like people are stealing from a poor corner shop. I love Xenogears just as much as the next RPG fan (no seriously, that game has a great story), but that's just idiotic to think you'd get that kind of money for a game that has a digital version for 1/17th the price. (it's either 5 or 10 bucks on the PSN store, w/e) Alexander.Drokin said: » Dreeeeeeaaaaaad! Where did you disappear to?! I duno. I'm in some sort of Box.
