Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
blah so annoyed... school decided this year to not supply us with the frames and ***for our final (3 pictures have to be framed) so I decide to go out and look at frames :| ended up spending almost 50 bucks just on frames ... just for them to hang up in the school for 3 months and then be trashed (they better give me them back...)
Guys I have a tech question if anyone can help?
I'm having issues with the performance of my pc running Morrowind. Now I'm running the graphics overhaul with alot of high spec mods, but I have tested the original unmodded version of the game and I have the same problems. When I boot up the game I get a crisp smooth frame rate for about the first half hour, regardless of how much detail is on the screen (draw distance, textures etc), around 30fps outside and 60fps indoors. Over the next 15 minutes of so after the initial half hour, the frame rate declines to literally half those values leveling out as low as 10fps in outdoor areas, making gameplay very frustrating. I literally have no idea why it's doing this. One thing to know however is that Morrowind only runs off a single CPU, it was designed this way and there is no way to change that, so despite my pc having quad core, the performance is limited to the power and resources of just one. I have tried setting the programs affinity to a single core and I have changed my desktop display to windows basic, but neither made a difference because other programs running just draw resources from a different CPU anyway. My only guess is that the single CPU Morrowind is using is heating up under the strain and after about half an hour this begins to impact on processor performance? Any ideas anyone? is your computer turned plugged in and turned on?
I do remember something about Morrowind having some kind of problem when it came to newer systems but I never really did find out if it was true or what the reasons actually were...
Or... Perhaps you're becoming like Cat. :D Your computer is gonna meeeeelt. I was actually looking at his problems and I might have to install morrowind and try. what mods are you using sagi? I don't mind installing and trying them out to see what mine does.
found this pic rather.. cute
