Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Well that was a buzzkill.
Hopefully your habit gets the best of you and we'll see you again soon. On a side note, my weekend has arrived, and I better get started packing ~_~ Also, Aelius, you got any renditions up your sleeve yet? No worries if you're too busy to finish any. Bismarck.Narshee said: » omg! that poor cat. looked like it saw a ghost "oh no no no no no no no no no no" O___O Hehe, the character creater in XIV 2.0 has Bust size... We know what that will mostly be set to.
It's too quiet in here. :<
I'm gonna rewatch Supernatural from the beginning. :I

We know what that will mostly be set to. hahahahahaha I doubt i'll ever make a female character ever again ... after the whole weird pervy experiance I had with XI ... (I say this like i'm not just as big a perv now....) oh yesssssss.... so I took my PC to the guy yesterday he ran a program that should have stressed the computer to the point of error... no error.... Leave PC on all night, wake up to a frozen PC and when I hit restart I get a BSOD and shutdown. WHY.. GOD... WHY ME? (it's gotta be hardware at this point) not entirely, now you can pull the log for that bsod, this is a good thing.
Did he also stress test your ram? and do a hdd diagnostic? Bismarck.Narshee said: » When your firewall program has popups.. you really need to find another.. -.- Why are you telling me to like you on FB? GET OUT OF MY LIFE COMODO -- ![]() I used comodo's firewall for a bit, to block adobe from calling home, didn't like the interface tbh. I eventually just used the hosts file to 127 the sites. Did he also stress test your ram? and do a hdd diagnostic? doubt he did the RAM... and he said he ran a CHKDSK on my HDD. He was usinv Everest Ultimate Edition? to do whatever he did yesterday. I would pull the log from the BSOD in the event viewer yes? windows chkdsk is a rather shitty hard drive testing tool.
what brand is your hard drive? yeah, event viewer (iirc). I never look at logs :P I'm bad I know >.> /duncehat Jetackuu said: » windows chkdsk is a rather shitty hard drive testing tool. what brand is your hard drive? yeah, event viewer (iirc). I never look at logs :P I'm bad I know >.> /duncehat oh lord... let me check lol I've forgotten :p Edit: Western Digital. also I've never heard of that program but after looking at it it mostly looks like the free System information for windows (SIW) which is available on hirensbootcd.
The only difference I see is that SIW doesn't have testing features (and from the looks of his program, it doesn't really either, it at least didn't show any) the version of SIW I have at least doesn't have a benchmark feature, which I've never heard of the people who do benchmarks using that tool. if you download hirensbootcd there's a bunch of diagnostic tools in there, and you don't have to install anything (which is good practice when you're diagnosing). there's no log for the first crash then? lame...
and yeah, highly doubt it's the hard drive but hirens has the Western Digital tool on it, probably a tad out of date though, if you want to pull the one from the site, but then you'd have to install it. I'd download hirens on a portable hdd, extract it there etc. Either you have to mount it with daemon tools or alcohol (or another disk mounting program) burn it to a cd, or make a live-cd usb stick with it, burning it to a cd would be the simplest, and for testing multiple systems that aren't mine the method I prefer. (the only issue I have with the USB version is so few usb sticks have write-protect switches on them, meaning I could infect my stick, I think this is bad policy, and Sandisk doesn't even make one, which is very sad as they're good products). Yeah the only error I have in there other then that critical is when I was installing a game and MSE didn't like something lol (dat crack)
I'll look at downloading hirens, I may just take it in again and let him deal with it, if it's a hardware problem (RAM, MOBO, CPU...) then he would hae to RMA it I think... yeah, I still think it's a driver issue.
I'd go first with seeing about updating your chipset driver, as it would affect the most at once. Doing that now, didn't think about that :|
I've got a photo shoot later today that I have to do so I'm going to let it sit idle for a few hours (3-5 hours) and see what it does. Edit: gonna go ahead and update everything, USB 3.0 drivers, the chipset, audio... I dunno if he even actually did that lol... he might have just loaded the stock ones from the CD :| If you need to be sure that your BSOD isn't leaving a minidump log. Use this. Blue screen view
Nothing needs to be installed to use it, you simply download and run it from within its folder. It even has a button (under file) that will google the bug check and driver error from the BSOD for you (loads your default browser). If your BSODs aren't creating minidumps, check out this link. Configuring Windows to create a minidump file. Thanks, doing that now (didn't have anything to show, so I changed it to create minidumps)
Should probably note that your minidumps will be deleted after a period of time iirc, or after using CCleaner to clean your minidumps (it's an option under the System category (enabled by default)).
just did a bunch of windows updates, plus misc. updates to other drivers from motherboard, GPU drivers are all up to date (I guess he did do that lol...)
now I guess I just have to wait and see. well, that was an amusing back read since my last post....
