Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
So I fell asleep for like 45min with my contacts in, woke up with a start, went to remove them.
4 hours later, I still can't get back to sleep. fuuuuuu That is not a corvette... =(
On a side note, my wife bought me a corvette for my birthday. It's a 1/32 scale Z06 and yellow, >:3 just like the one I want. Making an in-game version of the vana-con setlist to pump me up for the show.
So far the list looks really good. I don't like cars so idk.

I never understood why Japanese has so many English cognates.
Like many years ago when I saw a Japanese ad for FFX well before it's NA release, everything was of course in Japanese, except at the very end and in a thick asian accent where they said FINAL FANTASY. Perhaps the title of the franchise became a worldwide thing, so they call it by it's original English name? I don't trust TV products that "double the offer!" Why are they so eager to give you 2 of everything? Conspiracy.
I have a feeling I'm going to get that "really bummed out syndrome" when the orchestra plays their finale/encore song. Especially when it's a track that essentially finalizes the mood for the entire performance.
It was Terra's Theme last year, and I'm 99% sure it's going to be the main theme at this show. Bismarck.Narshee said: » I don't trust TV products that "double the offer!" Why are they so eager to give you 2 of everything? Conspiracy. Cause they know nobody would pay however much they charge + whatever ridiculous shipping costs are added for their piece of ***product, so they double the amount to give the illusion that you're getting a good deal. When in reality you're paying the same ridiculous price for double the garbage. I've always noticed that products advertised on TV always fall short of their expectations and displayed advertisement examples; by a lot too. If you buy now, you'll get this nifty, high tech, LED, state of the art, key chain flashlight. Now you'll never go blind while putting your keys into your door.
If you call within the next 20 minutes, because we can't do this all day... you'll get a second set of miracle blades at half the price for free! Perhaps the title of the franchise became a worldwide thing, so they call it by it's original English name? My guess is that there are passive establishments of title, brand, or name of things that have their place in Europe and/or the Americas, so I'm going to assume that these cognates are simply a method of identifying and not confusing anyone as it could be tricky, given the complexities of the Japanese language, to articulate the name or premise behind a title in it's native language. There is also a possibility there isn't a direct translation of the words 'Final Fantasy.' Though, I do find that hard to believe.
I'm sure it could also have something to do with targeting American audiences more and it being easy to katakanaize foreign words to make them Japanese, after all that is essentially what Katakana is there for. Edit: Gaah I feel like the more I write these the more someone is gonna get pissed off at me for saying the wrong thing. >.< I've been away from Japanese classes too long I feel I have no right to talk about these things anymore. Maybe I'm just getting overly paranoid from lack of sleep I don't know. On that note, I think I'm going to bed. My head is killing me.
Two more CDs to burn then I can sleep til I have to fly, weeeeeeeeeeeee!
When I was younger and used to go to concerts with my friends, I'd get excited and would listen to the featured albums non-stop leading up to the shows. LOL my friends would always warn me not to do that, to avoid burning out on the music...or worse, being let-down because the live performance wouldn't be as slick as the clean studio arrangement. :p
As for the cognates/borrowed-words, I notice that English also does that to a degree with words and terms from French or Latin, for example. Culturally, these terms could be expressed or presented in their English translated forms instead, but are often left in the native language (or at least romanised for non Latin-based terms) for whatever reasons--to sound more exotic or fanciful on the part of the speaker, most likely. I would think it's the same situation culturally for the Japanese cognates from English. *yawn*
Alrighty, better get ready, then it's off to Berkeley.
I'll be sure to have a great time and take pics. I'll also upload whatever cool music CDs they have at the merch booth. Ciao RT~ Time to make a call to the TSA and have Artemicion held for further questioning. *Evil cackle*
