I did something like that, once. I had a roommate who rarely ever lived in the apartment with me, and she told me that she would take care of rent so I just put my half on the table. That was a mistake, of course. Next thing I know, we get an eviction notice. Me panicking, I called my father who would put me up temporarily at his place. After packing all my stuff, quitting my job and a day before I left, she showed up and told me that she took care of the eviction thing altogether. I was like, "Uh.... what?" First off, I hadn't seen her in weeks, and secondly, I was done and on my way to Milwaukee. So I told her that it didn't matter and left.

One of the few times procrastination would have actually been useful.

As you said your really close and a confident so I'm with Narshee, go for it. It might not lead to a relationship, and might be a bit embarassing but it can still draw you closer as friends. He will know more then ever that he can trust you and all that dramatic stuff.
