Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
By Halfpint 2011-06-22 12:21:23
Why do you have to sit in an empty (no one but us there) ER for approx. 4 hours when everything was done in about 30-40 min?
20 min to get into a room, 20 minutes to check in and get symptoms, 75 min wait to see the dr (was there for 10 min), 10 min wait for blood test to be taken, 20 minutes for the results, 30 min for Dr to come back to say was not appendicitis but he had irritated digestive system, 10 min wait for anti-neausea then 40 more minutes for discharge papers.

ER does do things by priority.
Gun shot wound/major car crash top of the line.
Bad stomach ache...not that crucial.
Take for example the time I snapped both my bones in my arm clean in half and my arm looked like an S. Automatic front of the line and into a room because I was in shock.
Time I rolled my ankle and couldn't walk but was perfectly okay. hourish wait.

He was vomiting repeatedly, had to snatch the waitingroom trash can so it didn't hit the floor.

I think what is being said though is that they don''t prioritize a stomach ache... As in there's no rush to treat you or move you along to see a dr. all that quickly... you never really know what they're doing they cold be with a patient somewhere else or taking care of something... its just one of those things that unless there is some sort of urgency it won't always be looked at right away...

75% of a pool of 625 women said that they would not marry a man if he was unemployed. So sparked the debate is marriage really only about love or more than that as well...

be glad you don't live here...took my son into the ER a week ago and we were there for 16 hours...not a single other patient there the entire time...ONE doc on duty ONE nurse >.< I hate our hospital!

Those 75% of women need a smack in the face...(I married Felos while he was unemployed...granted he was in college and so was I but I would've married him anyway lol)
I, of course, can't speak for any other woman but myself, but it's all about the love for me.

There's a lot of gray area.
Is he unemployed because he's in school, pursiing something greater, or is he unemployed because he got laid off? Unemployed living w/ his mother and putting in 1 application a week? etc.
For example if I were a woman and wouldn't marry a guy for that last example, it'd be more a reflection of his attitude, rather than the fact he was unemployed

*noms orange chicken*
so the little old dude who owns this chinese place was talking to me while i waited on my food. i couldn't understand a thing he said until he told me "you drive for me. take food out. i give you 6 dollar.". was so awkward. i was ready to be like forget the food. it didn't even sound like words that were coming out of his mouth. i thought he was summoning a demon using the necronomicon.

Love isn't the only consideration in a marriage.
Personally, I expect my wife to work, and I'm sure she'll feel likewise towards me. Tiger mentioned there are a ton of grey areas. School is fine, raising our child(ren) (temporarily), if she was unable to for whatever reason.
I despise women who just want to be taken care of by a man.

For some marriage is all about love but practicality comes into it as well alot... IE even if she loves that guy, if he show no signs of getting a job and being able to make an equal commitment will she risk becoming his mother v2? I'm not saying there arn't ways for a husband to contribute to the family with out having a job, but it is deffinetly a risk. People rushing and getting married because they feel simple love for eachother is part of why divorce happens. Once that inital period wears off they are suddonly faced with the relization of "oh ***i just signed up to spend the rest of my life with this man/woman".
This isn't only a woman thing either, I'm sure you could find plenty of reasons that would give a man pause with a woman and no "She wont give me sex" is not considered for that list.

It appears though that marraige is a lot about security as well...

Well my point is marraige is becoming less and less about love and more of finding a buddy to share the cost of things with that you can have sex with and share the cost of raising a family... It's gotten to the point that its more of a business decision than anything.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
