give him lots of really long programs that have errors caused by a single semicolon or parthesis missing and tell him he has to debug it only by notepad and command prompt

if he still wants to after that then it's impossible to dissuade him

Take a huge piece of coding, add a ( somewhere in the middle, tell him if he fixes the problem, then he's ready to become a programmer.

ah, I couldn't get virtualbox to work properly with directx, also it made XI lag like hell on my gf's computer, with the way it attached itself to the network card...odd I know.

and btw i like ubuntu =/ no idea why it messed up in virtualbox though, it's been a while since i used it

idk I had vbox lose my xp vm once, pissed me off, it could still read the virtual disc but it wouldn't boot.

I have slackware in a VM, but I never use it, I should get around to doing that, then again I should also get around to dumping these ps2 games on this hdd, but I haven't been arsed enough to tear apart an old desktop to hook up the ide.

Yes! My son is a pretty nerdy kid, considering how hard of a time he has with speech. He loves castles/knights/dragons. (And robots!) I will be doing the scenes on his walls once I get them drawn out.

Show him a bunch of gibberish. Now tell him to show you where it was *** up and how to fix it. Then tell him ok I need that done now, and while you are at it, we fired the networking guy, so we need you to run a workshop on this new program we are installing. Btw the tech guy was fired as well so the paper machine that is buggy I need that done by today as well.

Tell him that it didn't solve anything when he *thinks* finds the issue and thinks he solved it, in fact made new errors. Then when he says wait, I don't know anything about that new phone conference/video software and how to run it, let alone the features on it. 3rd when he says wait why do I need to fix a printer idk how to fix those things, tell him you are fired.
