So I was playing TOR and after like 20 or 30 minutes my PC still shut off :| get's me back to wondering if it is a PSU related issue or something else (perhaps overheating?!? I mean the side of my case is off and it's in an open area so it should be dispersing the heat fast right?) /sigh

PC randomly shutting off is usually a failsafe to prevent overheating dmg yeah. if it was drivers or software it would freeze or bluescreen instead
always when growing up and I'd be angry or crying alone somewhere the cat would walk in silently and jump on the bed to stare at me lol "you okay?" type looks yet every other moment he'd never shut up meowing. So I'm sold lol

I'm actually just getting more and more baffled tbh, I mean if worse comes to worse I can mod a few more fans ontop or close to my GPU (maybe just sit them underneath it to blow on it?) but also what i've heard that usually if it's an overheating issue you would notice some graphical errors before it shuts off (like some streaking in your monitor or some weird stuff like that? I dunno) Nevertheless I'm in the process of scraping up $130 for a new 1kW Power supply (that SOB should run everything I throw at it for a few years at least lol)
You will only get graphical errors if your card is passed the max heat rating which should be either 102c or 98c. After it passes that heat rating you start doing physical damage to the card. If your processor is overheating then it has a failsafe to shut off as soon as it hits a certain point. Processor heats up much faster then a Vcard does. Make sure the heatsink is set firmly in place.
My videocard right now without an external fan is running at 97c with a fan on the side of it it drops to 89c. I need to get a watercooling setup for my pc.. also having no AC in florida makes it worse.

card at the moment sitting idle (netflix is running) at 62c which should be fine, I think it gets up to 89-90c under load.
i'm still sure it's a PSU issue but the TOR thing kind of makes me second guess it (only a tiny bit though)

Idling at 62 is pretty high. Start up TOR, go someplace busy(if there is any..) or someplace graphics intensive. Wait 3 min.s then check your temp.

Mine isn't as good as yours but it's only at 33 atm, even when I play stuff like the witcher 2 it's like 58ish
