On a side note: I'm thinking of ditching Distant Worlds in Dallas this June for another Zelda symphony in San Diego come this July.

Would get to see the water, the beaches, the zoo and other neat stuff.

I always picked the most prominent of their purpose, though either way you're either stuck with mediocre damage or mediocre healing/nuking. I'd say magic is a better gap filler than steal until you get multi-hits.

So: WAR WHM BLM RDM

I use:
WAR
MNK/THF
WHM
BLM

RDM was excellent at the beginning, but by the end of the game, I found it to be lack luster.

EDIT: I'm particularly fond of MNK, because starting at level 9 bare fists will outperform any weapon it can equip for the rest of the game. Saves tons of Gil.

Heaviest armor jobs need to be at the top. Hit distribution is like 50% > 25% > 12.5% > 12.5% or something from top to bottom on how mobs hit your party.
