So my parents bought Game of Thrones last week thinking it was like Lord of the Rings and I've been wondering... Am I a terrible child for not warning them that that is really not the case?

I like to think this but there the kind of people that get made uncomfortable by a slightly dirty joke... If they made it past the first episode their faces will look like this alot.

along with the thought of "wtf kind of books does our son read"

Why not? lol... In reality they probably just want you to show them that you're really interested and willing to go above and beyond for them... If you're not willing to put in any effort at the start when things are still new and fresh....

Edit: either way to each his own and if that's what somebody wants it's really no different from you wanting them to lower their standards and just accept whatever is to just be it...
