i'm sitting in my dining hall. and the food place isn't open yet. they're preparing the food and stuff and people are bringing in supplies and restocking shelves and stuff.

I don't know what time zone you are in, but my university has their main two dining halls open at 6 A.M., while the student union (where the burger king, taco bell, and other similar places are) opens at 7. That must suck having to wait on them to open.
Get to it, she might be single!
