...I didn't even read that page opener until after I posted. That's one good way to kill the thread! :x Leviathan.Catnipthief said: » Whooo got my first commissioned work as a video editor :3 (nothing amazingly complex but still! that's something to put in my portfolio!) Do you have a youtube or anything you use as a public portfolio? I think I'm dying, Catnip =(

Yeah I've only got the 1 video on it now lol, I'm going to upload a few more works on there (they are shitty though lol) Is it Friday yet?

Piracy is a form of Communism... I just realized it, Row.
I randomly just thought about it and went "well, ***." What reddit, bittorrent and all those sites are trying to do are protect free software. That in itself is one of the ideas of Communism. Quote: The software users distribute over those sites is not free... It's not Supposed to be free.
If I steal a car and give it away, it is not a free car. It is still a stolen car. That's my point.
They're distributing the software for free, (where they're supposed to be paid for) and what the companies are doing is try to stop it so people have to pay for it. What I'm saying is, deep down, people of Reddit, bit torrent, and all those sites are trying to protect free software, which is one of the ideals of communism. here bart i saw this and thought of you so i took a pic lol

I would use exenterator so you have less accuracy in case you try to hit me back :) Cerberus.Kalyna said: » Quote: The software users distribute over those sites is not free... That's irrelevant, the fact remains that the software is not free to begin with, the only reason we get it for nothing is because it is obtained 'illegally'. Cerberus.Kalyna said: » That's my point. I guess I really don't understand communism. I was under the impression that while benefits are shared that in some way or form the cost of those benefits are also shared in some way. Like if the software developers make is made free for all, then the system would have to allocate lower wages to everyone who benefits from this in order to ensure that the developers obtain a wage since they are performing a task which benefits everyone in the system. Like I said though I don't know much about it. Anytime you ask an econ or business teacher about it they tell you to GTFO at my school (America, *** Yeah?) and I am too lazy to look deep into learning it myself. Anyway... I should get back to paying attention to Infosec Class @_@ Cerberus.Kalyna said: » That's my point. You are still missing the point completely. It is not their software to distribute and it is not free software to begin with. Businesses cannot operate and/or expand creating free software, we cannot expect the technology sector to continue it's rapid growth by giving away products for free. I think you need to do some research into the owners of these websites and their true agenda. If they were supporting the ideals of communism they would not be living in multi million dollar estates making money from advertising through websites that exploit the lack of international copyright law on digital media over the internet and products created by legitimate businesses. |
