Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Ok, so I'm working on the Goobbue hoodie, debating on whether or not to add yellow flowers on the back with the moss, and teeth along the edge of the hood. What do you all think?
Chtulhu looks pregnant.

In regards to the Oreo talk that I missed because I had class, I offer you exhibit A:
Magnus.
This should give you a nice lol. Other day in class teacher asked us(she ask a question every time she calls roll so your answer says you're present) "What is your favorite love story?" I told her I didn't have one but for laughs we'll go with Oedipus the King. No one else got it but we both lol'd. Ramuh.Urial said: » Magnus. This should give you a nice lol. "What's so funny about that?" - Class "Because it's the worst love story ever...of all time....literally it's almost 2500 years old and still the worst." - Me "Why?" "He kills his father and commits incest with his mother without knowing." - Teacher "WTF" - class could have sworn I posted here, but looks like I posted on Ni.... lol
white horse looks awesome... maybe I should pre-order? Shiva.Leonkasai said: » 5 days and still can't download Mewtwo. :< I didn't know you could even classify that as a love story. It's like saying that MacBeth was a comedy.
My other choice was going to be Hamlet.
lmfao yes!
You know, people always say Hamlet has an Oedipal tinge to it, but I personally don't see it. I don't get how Hamlet wants to get with his mom. Maybe I'm not looking at it right, though. I think it's the sheer misfortune that gives the Oedpial tinge.
Hamlet meerly wanted revenge but in doing so he made himself king and stuck with his mom. Just like Oedipus didn't know that was his father or mother. lmao Edit: But meh then again Shakespeare was just a master in killing EVERYONE. so just got tagged and invited in FB, for a group reunion....
asides for 2~3 ppl I hated them so t(-.-t) That we're starting in the actual intro to computers book this week.... kill me now x.x

The dude understood love and human emotions better than anyone. That's why he could write so well for either end of the spectrum. Edit: I'm rather confident Seha would have read Oedipus and most Shakespearean tragedies in HS and she is sitting there going "WHY are they talking about these depressing things!?" Yet when any other guy displays any understanding of emotions they are accused of being gay >_> Ramuh.Sagittario said: » Ramuh.Urial said: » Bismarck.Magnuss said: » Ramuh.Urial said: » I think it's the sheer misfortune that gives the Oedpial tinge. It's the shaved legs, skirts, spandex, dislike of booze and obsession with men in panties that make us think that. Bismarck.Magnuss said: » lmfao yes! If you check the fight scene, when Ophelia's brother what's-his-name is sword fighting with Hamlet, Hamlet's mother is actually flirting with Hamlet. At least, that's the twist my Shakespeare professor gave it when we were studying that play. That's how she died even, taking a drink out of her son's glass (that neither of them knew was poisoned.) That's like reverse Oedipal complex or something, instead of a son wanting to be with his mother, it's the mother wanting to be with her son. But it depends a lot on how you read it. It's not very explicit in the text. I will concur that Shakespeare loved to leave things open for interpretation. Next time I read Hamlet, I'll have to read that part carefully to see what you're referring to. Kinda creepy if you think about it, but there are a lot of odd things going on in that play.
lol

If that's where you start asking questions in Hamlet you have some issues yourself... xD Ramuh.Urial said: » Edit: I'm rather confident Seha would have read Oedipus and most Shakespearean tragedies in HS and she is sitting there going "WHY are they talking about these depressing things!?" But Will first, I've read many of his works even though they weren't required for the school just cause I wanted to. |
