Oh Slip. So sorry about your grandpa. :-(

This was my first Christmas with neither of my grandparents living. I hadn't spoken to my grandparents in years, not for lack of loving them but because they could not speak on the phone (deaf) and had a touch of Alzheimer's and didn't remember me when I wrote. After years without them, I didn't think it would hurt me when they were gone. But there are days when you just suddenly think "damn, I wish I could hear Grandpa tell that one ridiculous story again" or "I really miss the way Grandma made this meal" or you walk by someone in a store or on the sidewalk that smells like them and it just hits you like a brick in the eye that they are gone and you can never get them back.

I'm sorry for your loss. Even if you don't feel it yet, someday you will.

Sorry for your loss Slip. Liela hit the nail on the head there. I lost both my grandmothers in the same DAY (within about 16h of one another) in completely unrelated incidents. So I can relate man. It really can be a hard time to get through.

Best of luck to you, man. It's a tough thing to go through.

i lost my grandpa my freshman year of highschool and my grandma my senior year.

i'm 3 years graduated now and it still hurts, i was never too close to my grandpa (he was a chain smoker and i couldnt stand to be around the smell after a certain age)

but i was really close to my grandma. nobody will ever, EVER replace her cooking, so much to the fact that my sister wont eat certain things anymore because its not hers.
