There's a valley girl in my class here at Nuke School. Rather than the stereotypical speech pattern, she just talks at a million miles a minute. She asks a question, and literally someone else has to ask it for her after the instructor can't understand her. She speaks so quickly that all I hear is, "So then like,..." Which is what she uses as a brief pause.
