So.... at a dilemma. I'm thinking I'm going to need to reformat my hard drive soon but one problem, I don't have my install disc or the piece of paper with my key on it anymore. Let a friend borrow it to use the extra activation key I had and he ended up losing the disc.

My copy of windows is a legitimate copy I got back when I was in college (My information systems teacher burned me a disc and gave me two activation keys he got from their license package). I don't really want to have to buy a new copy of windows 7 if it is at all possible not to.

So anyone have any ideas?

In case you're curious, I may need to reformat when I install my new motherboard. I know it's recommended and overall a good thing to do when replacing such piece but... yeah.

That's what I figured I was going to have to do. Couple days of leaving my computer on to download it, here I come. :/

Though I'd prefer to keep that as a last resort.

You could stalk out the computer store for a few weeks or so, learn their ways. Then when you're ready; dress up like a ninja at night right. Then steal a copy of windows 7 before the alarm goes off.
