There are many wrong things about this Barbie and tatoos aren't the worst.

I was thinking the same.

It's funny how originally the doll was to put little girls in the same image as the perfect housewife like it was Ozzie and Harriet or something, but now it's like "My little ***" :/

On one hand, I'm getting kinda sick of people believing and telling their kids that tattoos are the end-all of evil and rebellion. It's art, for crying out loud. Get over it.

But on the other hand, I don't think kids should be encouraged to get tattoos ever (must be their choice and theirs alone) and certainly not until they are adults. So giving them a doll that they idolize with tattoos, well, that's a bit too encouraging, in my opinion.

But could it possibly be any worse than Bratz dolls? Those were targeted for young girls also, and had scantily-clad, fish-lipped, hair-dyed dolls that were, well, brats. Not exactly a charming roll model for tween kids.

There's also been Puppy Surprise and Kitty Surprise toys for young girls. I had one of those. You get a small stuffed dog or cat with a stomach velcroed shut. Rip the velcro open and you get kittens or puppies. xD

And then there's the fake kitchens and brooms/vacuums. Those could be looked at as sexist toys.

And just about every doll nowadays has makeup on. Lolz.

I don't know, I just can't get riled up over a couple tattoos when there's so many worse things for kids out there, and when I don't even believe that tattoos are a bad thing. On a child's toy, they may be inappropriate. But there's a hell of a lot of stuff inappropriate about lots of kids' toys.

I used to play with boyish toys...except for the baby dinosaurs that changed colour in the fridge /blush

Oh, and plushies. Tons of plushies. PLUSHIES EVERYWHERE!

Those Bratz dolls are pretty deplorable. Even the name "Bratz" gives a terrible connotation. Do you really want a daughter who grows up associating being a "brat" with something good?


Pound Puppies did that, right? I remember those too. They also had a Barbie where the stomach opened up, and you would find a baby.

I was really girly though, had a huge tub full of Barbies and another huge tub of clothes and accessories for Barbies, had walls of shelves in my room just for stuffed animals and dolls. My parents even had a Barbie house custom-built for me that was taller than I was when I was about 6 years old with bedrooms, living room, kitchen, closets. The carpenter they hired even put tile in the kitchen and plush carpet in the other rooms in the doll house.

Oh god Zahrah, pregnant Barbie! That's awful and hilarious at the same time. xD lol

How did you even find that? You just kinda made my day. In a creepy, weird, awkward, 'kids-these-days' way.

Got my new router hooked up finally. I've been procrastinating. I hate going through and tweaking all the settings...

I suppose I should go make sure the 360 can connect so daughter can watching Netflix stuff. Hopefully I won't have to do anything since the SSID / password is the same. Hopefully.
