Better to be fully informed and sort it out asap. You vaccinate for bacterial meningitis, not a staph infections.

Doctors can't just lie or sugar coat serious conditions. Take it from someone with first hand experience on the matter. If all the doctors followed the "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." line of thought then there would be far more people with serious illnesses walking around unchecked. "What's this lump?" "Oh don't worry it's probably just a cyst or something" People should be blunt when it comes to health, and the information is out there on the internet regardless.
