Someone didnt grow up watching Bob Barker when they stayed home from sick from school and it shows

When I was sick home from school, which wasn't all that often, my mom put on Superbook on VHS.



We didn't get cable until about 2002. No more Superbook after that. ;-;

I downloaded FINAL FANTASY I-VI Pixel Remaster Collection xci for Yuzu but it seems to only have FF1 in. How do I play the other games?

It's 6GB so I expected it is all the 6 games.

The story and the voice acting in this game is an absolute train wreck. I'll try to explain this without spoiling much but the game has been out for almost a year at this point.

Every 4 years a faerie shows up to pick someone to sacrifice themselves to the mana tree. Those chosen are elated to have the opportunity to kill themselves. If you dont fulfil your duty, your town will be destroyed by the element governing your town. Furthermore, the faerie picks the best and brightest of the townfolk to be the sacrifice.

There are also elemental vessels that have the power of the elementals, and the way you get them is *** stupid. The first one you find was because some kids were playing with it. I'm not kidding. The second one was buried in some random place buried in some snow. Someone who joins your party has been looking for it since they were a child, and you wind up finding it in a few minutes. The third one is given to you by a merchant who stole it from someone else who was holding it, who had no business to have it. Now, so far every vessel has been found near its elementally associated town. The fourth vessel you obtain in a town nowhere near its elementally associated town (the town you start in coincidentally). How did they get such a prestigious item? Who knows! The fifth one is given to you by the last living person of its town that was destroyed because its person didnt want to kill themselves, and story wise you'll come to learn why it makes no sense why they were picked. The sixth one kinda makes sense. The 7th one is found after a boss fight with absolutely no rhyme or reason to be found where its found. But the most absurd one was saved for last: it is being used as a prop to hold up an entire *** building and that prop needs to be replaced every four years or the building collapses. The people used it because "its the proper size". No, I'm not kidding, jump to 12:20 and watch for a minute.

And then theres the useless dialog every time you do something.
"GRRRRRRIZLY"
"Got some syrup"
every time you pick one of these items up, and you'll pick up a LOT of those items. And I have no *** clue how to turn that dialog off.


Other than that, the gameplay is generic of its type, which isnt a bad thing, its like an 7/10 on that aspect. But my word, the story and dialog are so bad, -5 billion/10

I just learned that Nintendo online now has Game Cube games, and it's switch 2 only.....

Nintendo just made switch 2 even more attractive.....

Out of all 3 consoles IMO PSN has the worst retro game catalogue and the highest sub price......

By the time we reach PS6 generation, if Xbox can really play PC games like the rumor says I am probably going to ditch PS family for real....

Really the only appeal for PS family at that point is physical games for collection. I still love collecting physical games. But that is going away slowly even on PS unfortunately.

A lot of the ps classics have trophies, which a lot of ppl, including myself, enjoy. It gives you extra content to do to pad the overall playtime doing things you might have never really cared to go out of your way for.

Nintendo is horrid, and they don't have trophies. Which is a dumb choice. In the end you can download all of them on literally any device in 2025, especially a steam deck(which has trophies) so they are not selling points at all. In fact they usually are worse than the emulators just given the amount of modding possible.

AT&T sucks. I wound up with them after they bought my phone co out. Discovered I wasn't using near the minimum time, asked if I could donate the unused minuets to some soldier organization for use by troops in Iran (yes, that long ago), they said no.

Found a service for less than 1/2 AT&T's cost. Had they let me donate the minuets I would probably still be with them.

Just three games and it basically kills any hopes for a wind waker remake now.

Damn... ATT been super nice to me. had them for 15 years now with a 30% discount from my old job that never fell off. Love it when I go visit my inlaws in Thailand because the coverage is great.

I never had a issue unlocking my phones and I've done it every 3 years to give to my inlaws

I don't mod nor download illegal games, so Nintendo still offers the most options to play those old school games legally.

I wish PSN could have more retro games but Sony just won't ;(

Maybe Sony will prove me wrong 5-7 years later, but I have bearish opinion on the future of PS6 and generation onward. Assuming Xbox really manages to merge PC and Xbox platform and keep the console price lower than gaming PC that is.

People who wants high end hardware=buys PC

Lazy People wants a gaming only device without having to deal with PC problems=buys next Xbox.

People who wants exclusive games=buys switch.

What else does PS6 offer? Hmmm.....

That being said, maybe MS will *** up next generation again and Xbox Next will suck too, keeping PS alive. After all Sony has proven to be successful in consoles market for generation....I still wish the next Xbox can finally be a good console competitor in the market. Can't wait to finally have a game console that has access to decades of old game library.

Idk I don't see consoles as particularly relevant.

They, consoles, don't push the hardware envelope any further, they use essentially lower cost PC hardware further subsidised by the company.

They have exclusives as a result of licensing agreements and incentives, ie bribes.

Meanwhile Steam deck exists and does alright, filling a more casual space with the existing game catalogue on PC.

Outside of teenagers using Dad's money, who buys consoles?

Oh and also Steam makes playing Windows games on Linux a thing and Vulkan is cross-platform, so there's not even an OS lock-in necessarily anymore.

Because there is no incentive to buy an xbox. What was the last Xbox exclusive?

Me, I don't need a high end PC that does 10000 things on Windows. I just want a gaming device that can only play games, load a game and play them without needing to do configurations. And hopefully support physical games since collecting physical games is my hobby. PC can't offer that.

PS4+Xbox One combined sold 175m. PS3+Xbox 360 combined sold 171m. So I would say 170m is roughly how big the console (exclude switch) market is. This market size is not that small.

As of 2025 PS5+Xbox X/S combined sold 106m 5 years after launch, so there is room to sell more consoles to reach the market size of last gen.

We need to wait until the end of this generation to see if console market is really declining. If it can't reach 170m combined in the end then it's safe to say a good portion of console gamers went to PC. And it can happen from what I've seen, only 2-3 years left for this generation.

Btw, PS5 is currently selling faster than PS4, but that's because Xbox lose roughly 7% of the console market share this gen. Those players probably play on PS5 instead. That doesn't mean PS5 is expanding the console market, it only siphoned customers from Xbox.

The above numbers completely ignore Nintendo on purpose, since Sony don't see Nintendo as their main competitor. The biggest competitor for Sony is probably PC platform (or any subsequent console that supports PC)
