might just be me being ignorant but getting discord overlay on ffxi finally, never used to before.

In legal terms, yes, it isn't mine. In emotional terms its a piece of me.

I remember the good times with the people I played with but don't have any emotional attachment to my character or items. But I'm the same way with material goods, too. I've collected various things as hobbies over the years like music, games, movies, etc. but always given them away or lost them or something.

A whole bunch of guys that had been fired came back to work today. I asked one of them what he had been doing and he told me he drove down to Padre Island and was hanging out with the Spring Breakers. They (the bosses) told him, and the rest of them, to expect to be put on paid leave soon and he said he still had his hotel room booked. This guy.

I need to keep putting in job applications, but I get conniptions every time I open anything related to that. Ugh.

Talking about money, i have been executing a supposelly “good” idea.

Im always bothered about the (low) retention I have when I study something. This is nothing new or strange, but there is a limit how much i can effectively gain by simply reading a bunch of letters once, without effectively applying or reviewing later.

And all of that are extra effort that at minimum, will double the initial resources I dedicated to read a book or watch a series of videos.

So, what I have been doing now is reading/watching lessons with the mindset of rephrasing, reorganizing concepts and structures and prepare the text I write as a book I can release in the future.

This is a “good” idea because it add on top of reading/watching effort also a layer of “active” reading/watching, what boost the amount of knowledge retained.

Plus, having a material with potential to be released in the future allows me to prepare passive incomes, one of the most desirable thing one can have, imo. It makes worth every second I spend reading/watching: if im not retaining 100% of it, at least Im making use of that time to generate extra money in the future.

While this increase a lot of the time I need to complete a couse, in a sense that cost is kinda negligible for someone like me, who think that I have some degree of attention disorder: i normally take way longer to complete a course because Im always thinking in something else. For example that Angular course I undertook, in terms of duration, it was only ~55h of lessons. But it took me like 6 months to complete it because i had to rewatch many lessons, many days I simply didnt watch any because of gaming or other stuffs.

And active reading/watching helps me keeping focused in something, so in the end, it shouldnt be that much difference in time spent by simply reading/watching with my current attention disorder and reading/watching actively while writing texts that can be used for money in the future

Today I felt like that I need to place high in my priorities learning something about AI assisted programming.

Nowadays I believe less in AI then last year, but maybe still I can net positive by leveraging AI in many tasks.

Though one thing for sure, I do believe AI art seems to be a real thing.

Human intelligence, on the other hand, has yet to be proven.

Think my highest ML is 33 on COR from back when we were CJ spamming Sheol B and I was there for RD and rolls. Sometimes I was one of the BLUs, depending on who was there that night. For perma Richybard to everything else, it's only 31

Though I did go from ML15 to ML17 BLU in one sortie run the other night when 2 of us Entomb spammed all of G and H

In the days before internet getting 3 - 4 applications a day out was GOOD. The internet has both simplified and complicated most things but getting employed has to be the most blatant example.

Now lets talk about the fact that algorithms do the first rejections. Not even AI involved. But there are algorithms that will edit your resume to get past the weeding out algorithms! I imagine there are algorithms to detect algorithmically rewritten resumes leading to an almost circular infinite loop.

If there is a business and profit to be have, human ingenuity will find a way to exploit it. Imagine the companies both making the weed out algorithm and the expensive anti-weeding out algorithms. If we're lucky it's the same company producing both, and a third more expensive premium algorithm that bypasses both of those previous two if you want to get above the system.

And they just purchased the other two top algorithm producing companies so now they can expand globally.

Same as with the anti-virus/security industry. The same companies that sell "security" products also sell surveillance products that do the exact opposite of provide security.

Those surveillance products are whitelisted in the security products so they don't get triggered as the spying software which they are.

Only competing spying software triggers alerts.

It's funny how Reddit and Discord are both are/going public, and almost all the value of these companies isn't in the service they offer to people but them selling your data (the stuff you're writing) for AI training. Now Discord is going public and offers far better data (since it's far less left wing dominated and so less biased), reddit is losing value in anticipation of this new goldmine coming up.

This would be like a food store going public, and almost all the value of the company being linked to the security cam footage they sell to the government to track people.

Maybe the sweet discord money will be used to rejuvenate GW and give people their AH points!
