Even if you speak Japanese or Chinese, you are still forever an "outsider" if your race is different. Therefore not preferred as an employee in a Japanese or Chinese owned small business.

Many foreign or immigrant owned businesses in America prefer native English speakers in customer facing roles. Then maybe your life experience is different from mine. I used to work in a network of first gen immigrant business owners, literally every one has a strong preference on employee from the same cultural background. If they need a good English speaker, they hire someone from their background that can speak English well. It's not hard to find a non-white immigrant that speaks multiple languages fluently in a multicultural city. Most customer facing roles don't need "native" English speaking skills, just "professionally functional" English skills. A Chinese or Japanese employee that move to NA when they are 12-18 can speak English professionally just fine, and they still have some cultural understanding of co-workers/customers from the same background. Seems like an easy choice for people with a background preference. Seems like an easy choice for people with a preference. I agree with this. Most immigrant-run businesses seem to be mono-ethnic in my area. I don't think it's a bad thing, either. Employers should be permitted to selectively hire so that they can work with people they are most compatible with. I'd just prefer for my own people to have that same right. "The First Berserker: Khazan" looks promising. I hope it's gonna be in 2025 what Lies of P was for me in 2023.

And if the cooks aren't literate in English the waitstaff does need to know how to write in whatever language is needed. You can't write sign language. It's only being a visual communication. I don't like forcing them to learn. If they want to, they can ask me anything. However, every order gets printed out in the kitchen for the cooks to read. They do need to understand the basic language. --- Avatar: The Way of Water is a good example. You can use sign language to talk while you're in the water. I understood a bit of their alien sign language. I think James Cameron did a good job. Elon really stepped on his down *** this time.

"If you don't think that was a nazi salute post pics of yourself doing the same thing on your social media. Be sure to link your boss on it." Personally I am disgusted at AIPAC rather than than Musk. Nazis gonna nazi after all but supporting a nazi because he also supports Israel is a bridge too far. I don't think he is talking about the dumb salute.

Garuda.Chanti said: » Nazis gonna nazi after all but supporting a nazi because he also supports Israel is a bridge too far. Ummm Isn't Nazism also Antisemitism? "Nazi" and "support Israel" literally can't co-exist from political pov lol. (I know people just spam the term Nazi against people they don't like these days as an insult, still amusing to see.....) 1-thats the point shes making
2-nazi as an insult has been so watered down, no one gives bats an eye anymore. Back in my time, hitting the balls was considered a dirty move.
Fortunately for us, your medical reports says you were fixed.

Many of those see Israel's brutalizing of the Palestinians as a feature, not a problem. Others see a problem in that we don't wipe each other out leaving the mideast depopulated. Israel the nation is a Jewish state. Many antisemites support the state for an assortment of reasons many of which I neither know nor can imagine. It doesn't make sense religiously but it sure does politically. Space
Like most kids I knew I was interested in the assorted pantheons of older gods. I studied mythology later. I never had the slightest idea there was a Roman goddess of door hinges. People seem unwilling to stop paying for netflix no matter what they do, so indeed, why not. Milk em dry.
When you are 2-3x better than the competition and release almost weekly content, you can get away with a lot.
And another galaxy. S25U, not falling for it this time.
Maybe we should try that galaxy, because this one isnt worth it anymore!
Sigh, while watching a free webinar about Java Spring, that watched only because its a technology used at work, the tutor said: "now here is my paid course!"
The thing is, i dont really have interest in Java, so i would skip. Then he said: "if you subscribe RIGHT NOW, you get a bonus of CICD AWS and Github Actions". Dang, this sounded like tailor made for me, because they are things that form the base of my project. And i really like the tutor. I had no options in the end, but to enroll to pearn a technology that isnt really what I want. But probably would make my life a lot easier My cellphone battery energy is low, so I cant shitpost adequately today, so you guys take easy on the bixkering here
I wont be around often to take care of you China just released an open source AI model that beats/matches everything the biggest and richest western AI companies have created, and that can do it cheaper and faster. The AI companies are struggling to rip it apart and steal everything from it to incorporate into their own.
Absolute shambles, 5-10 years of feelgood DEI policies and now we are the laughing stock of the world stealing the crumbs from Chinese gigabrains. Quote: Also, thanks to the fact that it is fully open source, people have already fine-tuned and trained many multiple variations of the model for different task-specific purposes such as making it small enough to run on a mobile device, or combining it with other open source models. Even if you want to use it for development purposes, DeepSeek’s API costs are more than 90% cheaper than the equivalent o1 model from OpenAI. If they did this with an open source project that they gave away to everyone for free like it's nothing, imagine what they have that isn't. ![]() Western exceptionalism is in the rear view mirror, we are china now. We can't even make good games anymore lamo https://venturebeat.com/ai/why-everyone-in-ai-is-freaking-out-about-deepseek/ RadialArcana said: » Absolute shambles, 5-10 years of feelgood DEI policies and now we are the laughing stock of the world stealing the crumbs from Chinese gigabrains. Not really DEI's fault, China supplied nearly 50% of talents in AI industry since years ago. https://thechinaacademy.org/china-produces-nearly-half-of-the-worlds-top-ai-researchers/ ![]() Even non-DEI countries like Korea, Russia, India don't have this many talents and investments. So DEI is irrelevant. China also dominated AI and advanced analytics research. 33% of “highly cited publications” came from China, 14% are from the US, 5.4% is from India, which is a non-DEI country. Being a non-DEI country doesn't give you an advantage basically. What matters is the resources invested. Source: https://www.computerweekly.com/news/366609796/China-dominates-AI-and-advanced-analytics-research The only reason why the US was ahead for some time is because of advance AI chip ban on China and the lack of Chinese training data to train their models. But Chinese are overcoming this disadvantage by open source. Also those Chinese AI companies still obtain those Nvidia chips from black market, so chip ban isn't working well. So it's not some kind of magic that China is catching up in this field. It's something that will come the moment they put way more resources into this field many years ago. Blaming DEI is missing the point. Everyone needs a scapegoat to justify their conspiracies. Especially RA.
