My husband got me the box set of early edition a little while back and I finally sat down to watch some of it.
I love early edition, they do so many little things right in it.
I would like to see a new show along the same Lines but I really dont know how you do something similar in the digital age, I feel like they would just go more the 7 days route (which is also an awesome show, fingers crossed hubby gets me that box set next :D)
Look the OG series in perspective, I wonder what happened.
Because I suppose the serie was popular enough to not being in risk of being axed.
But the ending arc was so rushed, so many ongoing plot were simply thrown out the window to make a last battle that didnt scratch the underlying plot. It even added one extra loose end during the fight.
My guess, without looking for info, is that the author either got a better offer to publish it in another magazine, or he simply got fed up with Kaneki.
Because, im my eyes, Kaneki is a really weak leading character.
The author even tried to make many changes on him, but he never felt likeable. He was kinda like a "Vaan": a leading person in role, but that dont effectively contribute to the overall story.
Mostly being bossed around the entire story, a lame attempt to change from a timid and ingenuos boy to an artificial chad, only to become a pretty messed person that really never understood what he wanted.
So much that in the last half of the story, many secondary characters starred more chapters than him, and his participation were just random *** with random fights.
Not even cool a unique design and power up saved this one.
One funny note is that Ive been anticipating the image that generated the famous meme of blond guy crying. It didnt happen in the OG, so I will still looking for it in the sequel, trying to guess whats this about (at first I thought it was Hide, then Kaneki when he got blond/white hair, maybe its neither).
I'm just now getting back to internet briefly. We've been without power/internet/water/cell for the past 4 days, but we are lucky, our house sustained minor moisture damage but nothing major. My dads house was wrecked, a tree tore through his kitchen in the middle of the storm, we lost cell signal while he was calling to tell me he was sheltering in his basement and I had to navigate a mess of downed power lines, trees, and flood waters to get him out.
Areas north of town weren't so lucky. There are entire sections of town that are just gone, others were under many feet of water. Buildings are just missing. The water treatment plant was severely damaged or inaccessible and the largest city near me is out of water. A large food distribution warehouse was washed away, so food is scarce as well. The first thing people started getting nuts about was gas, there were fights at gas stations and 6+ hour lines for the few that were open.
People are stranded and some towns are only accessible via aircraft. They are using drones to drop supplies to people that still can't be reached. FEMA, National Guard, etc are all here but a lot of smaller areas are inaccessible. Most roads in and out of our area were destroyed, the back road near us to SC just washed down the mountain. I-40 West had a huge landslide and another section where an entire lane just fell off the mountain. Sinkholes consumed parts of other highways.
We're fortunate, but it's madness here, many missing still and with no hope of rescue. Friends of mine went to check on neighbors then came back to find their house was gone.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
