At a certain point you really do have to step back and question if you're watching something because you're actually enjoying it or if you're watching it because the FOMO and SCF have you on a leash.
Games have their battle passes and daily chores, while movies and TV shows with endless spin-offs and tie-ins. They hit you with a lot because they want to keep you as engaged as possible. The human brain has a hard time telling the difference between engagement and enjoyment. You have to realize that it's OK to step away from something if you aren't enjoying it. The FOMO will go away.
