Xenogears was a Combo driven RPG from SE long ago & an absolutely stellar game as well. While FF7 Remake is no longer FF7 via opting to go the Xenogears route.
I would had personally preferred a straight up Remastered Edition keeping the core gameplay simply due to how iconic FF7 is & was. While I did enjoy Xenogears combo combat such just seems out of place & out of order in FF7
Hearing his claim that Xenogears was supposed to be the original FF7 is rather fitting tbh considering the FF7 Remake copied Xenogears combat.
I gotta chime in on this one cause Xenogears and the Xenosaga Trilogy are some of my fav video games and top fav RPGs. =D The story lines are top notch among like tons of different games I've played over the years. I wish so much that Square would remake Xenogears someday! Also would be nice if they ever did an HD remaster collection of the Xenosaga games.

Even then, you get the gross kick-up on your car and everything gets slippery and nasty. No snow allowed.
I still can't tell if I prefer the snow or the cold, because when it's really cold it can't snow, so it's one or the other. Either way, it sucks having to put on a jacket just to throw something in the garbage outside.

We get both and it’s fan-***-tastic. Earlier in the month we got about 2 feet of snow in a 24 hour period. Last week it was -35C for 3 days, and that’s not even as bad as gets here.

Whereabouts? I know us Winnipeggers always exaggerate how bad we get it here. The reality is Winnipeg has the lowest snow load in the entire province, and we always tend to use "feels like" temperature as actual temperature. Realistically we don't tend to reach more than -40C at worst, but a lot of people here will claim crap like -70 because of wind chill and stuff...
What is up with all the new movies releasing on thursday for the last two months? I miss the memo? A thursday release was like a special midnight event rarely but now it's every movie.

OK but such gameplay is nothing NEW nor modern. It’s been done before was my point. There’s plenty of room for both styles to Coexist.
That’s what ppl say about XIV but that’s nothing NEW neither since WoW is as old as FFXI
SE should had just made Xenogears 2 instead tbh.
Xenogears was unique due to the combo system & storyline outside of typical FF lore.
I'm actually pretty certain Squaresoft lost the rights to make another Xenogears game since all the Xenosaga and Xenoblade games are made by Monolithsoft and within the same Xeno-universe. Even if a Xenogears 2 was announced, I really doubt it'll be developed by S-E at this point.

I know the dev team responsible for Xenogears was bought out by Nintendo but the fact that they renamed the game tells me SquareEnix owns the Copyright to the franchise called Xenogears.
Maybe I am mistaken but that’s what it looks like since it’s Xenosaga not Xenogears any longer.

The older I get the more I hate the snow. It just means I need to shovel + freeze to death when outside. It’s been a Global Warming fiasco this year so far feeling like Florida winter in the North East NYC area. At least 50° to 60° every single day. I can accept Global Warming if it’s just going to transform the NE into weather experienced down South. “Global Warming” OK! /2thumbsUp
I love a snowy white Christmas eve and day. Other than that, you can keep it. Snow means slippery roads and it's bad enough that kids today are passing you going 80 in a 55, do not know how to signal and texting while driving and trying to pass people on the left while the person is in the middle of a left-hand turn. Add ice to that equation is even worse. Cold, I can deal with. I can crank up the furnace or wrap myself in a weighted blanket.
I live in the level of snow shown in the first picture. My parents always got nervous leaving my friends and I alone outside to play because we used to tunnel into the 7-foot drifts. God knows how easy it would be for that tunnel to collapse.
One time my dad even dug down to create a snow patio, carving stairs down into the round pit, leaving seats and a table for people to sit around.
Just hooked up the Noir. Played 2 levels of Mario 1 and turned it back off. Going to have to see where I put the everdrive and load it up with roms. Don't ask, I ordered it before the Noir was announced. Gotta let the controller charge a bit.
I see that it has scanline emulation, I'll have to find my zapper and see how well that works.
Even with ROM support via SD card, nothing wrong with using an Everdrive. Some like that "put in a cartridge" feel. Honesty, when it comes to enjoying retro games, there is no right/wrong answer.
Note that the zapper will only work on a CRT.
I love my Noir. If I was asked to choose between it or my PS5, I would pick the Noir without thinking twice.
All this talk of badass TVs. A TV will only reach peak badassery when it can play Duck Hunt with processing power so fast that it gets the 1/30th of a second flash to display accurately.

why not just build solar wind powered self heated roads ?
The answer to all of life's questions; money.
It costs "too much" upfront, even though it would save literal infinite money over time. And what about all those people you put out of a snow plowing job? Won't someone think of the money!
Same reason we build ***roads in the first place, same reason we use junk materials, people have jobs fixing that ***and we can't fathom a world where slaves don't have to do slave labor. They might actually realize somethings wrong if they aren't working all the time.

The amount of energy required to both counteract the external temperature and melt the snow would be colossal. They'd have to have sensors as well to detect when and where there is snow, otherwise it would probably melt tires. I can't even begin to imagine how expensive it would be per unit area to keep snow off. Then there's the matter of keeping the drainage pipes warm enough to carry the water away throughout the -40 degree winter...
Maybe once we've cracked fusion power we'd be able to economically maintain dry roads year-round.
