if you just pull up the ffxi wiki all the original avatars will have a link to their original article from the vanadiel tribune. it was jp only at the time i believe because it was building up hype for the Rise of the Zilart expansion which added SMN, which was also the NA release.

I don't think those were canon within the game lore, but might be where they got the design ideas at least.

Random thought... has anyone ever tried speed-running Final Fantasy XI? I wonder how long it would take for someone to get from Lv.1 to Lv.99 on one job and complete all of the main and expansion story missions. Especially if they didn't allow themselves to be power leveled or sent gil from a main account.

Plenty of people have done it, they have talked about it here. I think people used to have LS events dedicated to it.
Cool - I'm not surprised, I'd just never heard of it before.

I always scoffed at how people would do marathon speed run events and skip over 11! Can't handle those 16 hours.

Going thru WoTG missions and seeing how they did the cutscenes, its quite impressive for what they had available. Really nice looking compared to how in XIV every cutscene is the characters constantly nodding and doing the most basic stuff. A shame really because 1.0 had some really detailed and animated cutscenes.

Of course by this time our farmers have already ploughed under for this year. Some places hadn't seen rain in about 6 weeks. And of course Manitoba's economy is supported heavily by our agriculture. I hope everybody likes the effects of supply and demand on their produce this year! >_>;

I think Adoulin was where they really showed their tiny budget. Hated how we got pictures shown on the acreen instead of actual cutscenes, but they did have some good ones.
