Not surprised, but mostly disgusted in general in those two particular things. Well, in the social media driving it too.

I will if there are legit reasons to. If using "***" is the reason, half the posts on this site need adjusted. And if putting it in a meme vs just typing it is the problem, that's just foolish. If its a drug reference, again...see half the posts on this site. But I certainly will adjust/edit if the reason is valid.

If they count that as profanity in an image and its said even on freaking old person CBS during primetime these days, I'll take my lumps for it.

iirc it was something with advertising revenue and language filters. you can keep this a family friendly site by google's standards through allowing people to set a profanity filter. language filters don't work on images and if google does their review and a lot of the images have profanity or adult content then they don't get to stay as an all ages site which allows for more ad revenue because of the number of ads it can populate.


*edit* there are no lumps. usually it just gets deleted. it's not a thing about it being content people here don't wanna see, it was about one less thing the people running the site had to deal with. kind of a community spirit, "do this for ah!" type thing.


*double edit* you can usually see an image from hugs having some mspaint squiggles over the curse words as an example of working around it.
