I mean, the key seems to have always been the civility of the arguments posed and discourse conducted. P&R constantly failed whatever standards we have around here.
i'd rather random political memes than some of the stuff i've seen =x

I obviously don't post as much as I used to, but that's probably better for my sanity.... Offline

P&R constantly failed whatever standards we have around here. Well, given that a decent chunk of the RT regulars are former P&R crew, I'm not sure that the civility will be any better. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I had fun with it. I mainly pointed it out with concern for others, because I can't imagine it will end well once Rooks sees the line being crossed. /shrug Offline

Much of the time I notice that people around here will stay in line if they know the stick is hanging above them lol I don't exactly know where the line is, since it seems to move based on the number of complaints, but I'd imagine as long as conversations stay within central point refutation, refutation, and counter arguments, while staying away from ad hominem attacks and name calling, it could be all right.

Yeah you would say that Xaander, you incorrigible reprobative son of a caitiff scapegrace!
On a completely unrelated topic, I have resumed a long-delayed quest to complete every numbered Final Fantasy (in the earliest form of each game that I can get my hands on).
I'm playing the FF Origins version of FFII and I'm... regretting my decision. But I'll keep going until it's done! I've beaten: Tactics, Tactics Advanced, X, X-2, XII I've played: I, VI, VII, VIII, XI, XIII, XIV (I actually haven't yet completed all of the storylines in XI >_>;) Ragnarok.Hevans said: » ff2 is the one i haven't played. i started but got burnt out cause i was so ocd about stat building thanks to xi... Understandable. There's a reason that they abandoned the stat/magic system from FFII. It's a brutal grind to level up anything. I guess it can be in XI too (obviously more so in the past), but it's not worth it in a stand-alone NES game. Ragnarok.Jessikah said: » Part of me really wants to try doing that. I've mostly enjoyed a great number of titles under the franchise name, but really haven't beaten very many of them, especially the numbered ones. I've beaten: Tactics, Tactics Advanced, X, X-2, XII I've played: I, VI, VII, VIII, XI, XIII, XIV (I actually haven't yet completed all of the storylines in XI >_>;) I'm only missing II and III from the early games, and XI kinda screwed me over for any one-player titles after it. The time investment was so crazy that I just never got around to XII, XIII, or XV. So far my favorite Nintendo-era game is FFV as none of the others really resonated with me. I can see why people might like them, though. Bahamut.Ravael said: » I'm playing the FF Origins version of FFII and I'm... regretting my decision. But I'll keep going until it's done! Unless I want to punish myself. But in that case, I rather punch myself in the nuts 50 times in a row before playing that game again..... Personally, I like VI.
I'm replaying IV now on my DS. Got to the part just before going to the moon for the first time though. III is the second best game Tanaka worked on. Fite me

I don't own a DS and wouldn't want to play it on mobile, but at least that leaves PSP as an option. The only other time I use my PSP is to occasionally play Dissidia 012 against my brother-in-law, so I'll be able to get more use out of it. Offline

Get out your thesaurus, it's time to I was trying to sleep lol Perfunctory provocateurs, the lot of you! I do appreciate the thesaurus burns though. I never heard scapegrace before. XV only redeemed themselves a very small bit due to the Royal Edition, and even then, it wasn't a good story. I generally look at games by the following criteria (in order): 1. Story 2. Battle System 3. Stat System 4. Mini-games 5. Other stuff (such as difficulty for example) The last few games had such a horrible story (XII had the main character that you play the most as about as irrelevant and needless, and all of the other characters, including Penelo, being more relevant and engaging than Vaan, XIII was a complete hot mess where they tried to tie 3 substories into one greater story that didn't even tie into the main plot at all, and XV, after Chapter 4, was just a sandbox game that eventually you would just accidently find the place you were supposed to go and, by then, you have leveled up so much that the main story enemies/bosses were such a joke that you didn't even need to bother thinking about how to beat them) that it honestly makes Mystic Quest a better game than them in my viewpoint. And that's saying something. Ragnarok.Jessikah said: » {Welcome back} King |
