Lighting does affect it a good bit. But in the original, cloud was described as having a very deep and dark blue eyes from the mako. And those two are not a deep and dark blue. Granted, ps1 graphics made it hard to see clouds eyes in detail. But even the cut scene at the end of the game showed a deep blue.
And for sephiroth..

normal i wouldnt care so much about a seemingly trivial detail. But so many times in the game, and by several different characters, they mentioned the Blue eyes of solider.

Well, if the eyes are supposed to be significant enough for a story plotline, you would think they would make it dazzling so it's easy to tell who's been in Chernobyl or not.
And not just any dazzling, but dazzling, like Sempai dazzling.
Another Star Ocean rehash that I will buy just to support the studio and encourage SE to actually make us another proper, well financed Star Ocean title.

Clouds eye color seem to be correct, tho it does seem like the intensity of the glow has been toned down slightly, the one caused by mako poisoning.
I guess is is less noticeable too, since the eyes are more realistic and smaller than the PS1 game.

Just watched the 2017 Power Rangers film. I wouldn't know how to even judge it, but I was quite entertained at least(which is a lot more than I can say about Transformers to make a comparison).

I went simple; used Spear/Odachi and 2Kat, and only used buff Ninjutsu like the Quick Change scroll. Seems I need to change up how I play to beat The Abyss though.
