Looking at how the model is setup, it looks like the guns on his back are supposed to be replacements, I'm guessing for when the front ones are either damaged or run completely out of ammo? Seems like a very odd setup...

I didn't want Viera. But once they announced it I decided I would be incredibly annoyed if they locked it to females.

That said I can't complain that much, I got my sodium intake from the people who were disappointed in BLU. :3

What are we talking about?
Viera were confirmed for the next FFXIV expansion. The Japanese Fan Festival is this weekend. We haven't had confirmation on whether there will be male Viera or not.

yup. cause it lacks of any propper extra arm or moving mechanism on the back

Well you can see it attached to an arm (you can see it just below the shoulder spike on the left hand side of the picture) but it doesn't look like it's meant to make it over the shoulder properly, there's also still handles for the hands to hold on the guns themselves so it definitely seems like it's mean for swapping.
